Yes my date is the 12, I’m not having any symptoms to be honest I get a bit tired, but I think that’s because 1) it’s cold and so everywhere there is heating on so I just get cosy and 2)I am on more progesterone this time because my levels were slightly low so they told me to take another pessery, so nothing to make a fuss about

Americangirl, aww I really hope it works for you too, I have seen some of your posts on other threads to. It’s just a rollercoaster. Yeah I hate the speculum, I think it’s a high stress situation and then to be that uncomfortable to.

when is you test date? You don’t have to say if you don’t want. I don’t think I’m gonna last until Weds tbh, I did go and buy some tests as I think if it was gonna happen it would have by now surely.

Re: January 2025
Kay, my test day is the 18th. I’ve made it to test day every time so far, I’m really stubborn in that way! What are you doing during the TWW? I took off work for the first week and will WFH for the second week, so lots of TV and books at the moment. Been debating going for a walk to get some fresh air but it’s also freezing out and I don’t want to over exert myself.
You don’t have to share your story thus far, but I thought I’d share mine - I’ve only ever had a positive pregnancy test once, which was following my second transfer but then I had a missed miscarriage between 6 and 8 weeks. Then we found out my blood is clotty so that might have caused the miscarriage or it could have been an aneuploid embryo, we don’t know. I’m really wishing I had PGT-A tested my embryos at this point! We will if we need to go for another round.

Wow, you are really good. I don’t know if I can hold out. Going away this weekend which will be nice I have been doing same with reading and just relaxing really.
Sorry to hear bout MMC. I have actually never been pregnant, just unexplained. I also had sticky blood and take inhixa. They said to me about testing embryos but I know someone else had it and it came back fine but still didn’t work so I ruled that out personally. The other thing they said for me was NK cell testing, I think because I never actually get pregnant so if this doesn’t work then I will be testing for that. It is all just so expensive and difficult to think what to do whilst trying not to get carried away etc. but i think after the whole journey we can atleaset say we tried everything which is really important. This journey has definitely helped me improve my diet though

Yeah, I hear you on the wanting to know what’s going on but not wanting to spend my life’s savings! We had my NK cells tested and they were fine, the bloods is the only thing really. We’ll do some chromosomal testing and the ALICE and EMMA if this try doesn’t work. It’s helped me improve my diet too, I was definitely not eating enough before and worry that this might all be from chronically under-eating. I suppose we’ll never know.
Are you going anywhere nice? Whereabouts in the country do you live? I’m in Derbyshire.

Re: January 2025
Hi everyone, I’ve got a bit of catching up to do on replying….
Rachel I haven’t done the PGT testing before and doubt I will in future for 2 reasons 1 it’s expensive and 2 they test the placenta cells and not the baby. When we had our NIPT test at 12 weeks with my little boy that came back higher risk of Edwards they say that it can just be a problem within the placenta and that if especially if it’s mosaic that any faulty chromosome cells go to the placenta rather than the baby and it’s natures way of keeping the baby healthy therefore the placenta could show as a problem and then they can’t use the embryo whereas the baby could be fine. It’s not a 100% accurate and I wouldn’t want to risk a healthy embryo.
Stephlm I’m ok thanks. It’s obviously disappointing it didn’t work especially when it’s your last FET and have to think about going for a whole new round and additional expense and multiple cycles and transfers unsuccessful. We are planning to start meds in April for May collection and then me and my partner will have taken the coq10 for 3 months plus other supplements we already take. I’m sooooo not looking forward to it though!!!!!!
Lorelai that disappointing for you but try to remain positive… it only takes one. Have you had any more updates?
Kay welcome, how are you feeling?
I went to my gp yesterday after discussing various blood tests at our follow up consultation with my consultant at care and he agreed to request everything that he can that was available on screen and the ones that are classed as secondary requests like the blood clotting and amh he got a manual paper blood form with the carbon paper copies underneath and wrote in pen all over the top saying fertility request and listed various ones. He said that was the best he could do with the rest and he has had it accepted before but it just depends on the day if they do it or not. To get everything through care it would cost nearly £800 so I’m hoping the nhs does them! That would be a big help.
Good luck to those in the TWW x

Re: January 2025
Hi ladies, sorry I’ve been quiet the last few days.
Welcome Kay and Cheshire Kat!
Lorelei, I know how disheartening it can be, we only retrieved 2 eggs on our first collection and only 1 made it to day 5 for transfer. Blastocysts can be little fighters though…as hard as it is, try and stay positive.
Nevergiveup, I’m so glad your doctor was able to request the blood tests for you. The price of the tests through Care is ridiculous!!
Rachel/ Kay, I hope the TWW are going OK. I managed to last until 8dpt as I was going insane! I’ve only made it to test day once, my other 3 times, I’ve caved and tested early! You’ve just got to do what’s right for you and your partner!
After 2 missed miscarriages, we opted for PGT-A. I was originally against PGT-A but after dealing with the miscarriages and knowing our second had Turners Syndrome, we wanted to protect ourselves from as much heartache as possible and try and cut down the time to a live birth. I also spoke to a genetics consultant (not at Care) and they confirmed Turners would have been picked up in PGTA testing and recommended testing any remaining embryos.
From this point, we chose to have our embryos tested. We transferred what was our last (and only) euploid embryo as part of our recent cycle. I’m just praying this pregnancy continues to be viable and we get a heartbeat next week.
As part of our recent cycle we did an elective freeze all collection in January. We have just had our PGT-A results back. Out of 11 embryos, 4 are euploid. The tests showed various chromosomes abnormalities. One embryo had Patau Syndrome, some had duplicate chromosomes and some had losses of chromosomes. With most, the chance of live birth was less than 2% and if survived, they had a life expectancy of less than 2 years.
I guess the only way we will know if it was worth testing is if this pregnancy is a success! I’m also hoping doing the tests gives me some confidence in my pregnancy and eases the anxiety once we get past the heartbeat stage!
Xx

Re: January 2025
Wow stephlm 4 out of 11 that’s a shock but like you say if it puts your mind at rest then that’s the best thing for you. My MMC was Edwards syndrome so similar sort of figures with a live pregnancy. He made it to part way through my 14th week and we had an amneo booked at 15 weeks and just before having it (which has its risks) they scanned me to find no heartbeat. Then I gave birth in week 16 because that was the earliest they could find me a bed to be admitted to a ward. It was the worst experience of my life.
How many weeks are you now? What date is your scan? Are you allowing yourself to get excited? x

Steph, what day is your scan? We’ll all be thinking positive heartbeat thoughts for you!
Lorelei, how is your embryo doing? When will you transfer it? Im thinking about you and hoping it’s going well!

Re: January 2025
We are 5w3d today! I’m in that phase of being constantly aware of what’s happening to my body, terrified of the toilet and any decrease in symptoms! We named our first two embryos (Snowflake and Blossom) but didn’t our third as we didn’t want to jinx it but that approach didn’t work!
We’ve named this embryo Frosty as it’s been on ice for 11 months! We’re trying to live in the present- Every morning and night my fiancé kisses my tummy and wills Frosty on!!! But my sleep is starting to become broken again and we’ve both started having dreams/ nightmares about our scan.
Pregnancy after loss is SO hard.
Our scan is on 13th Feb, we will be 6w1d!
Have you got any nice plans for the weekend? Xx

Steph, I hope frosty makes it!!! We named our first positive pregnancy once we had the positive test - Munchkin, last time we named it during the TWW - Bryo - but that one didn’t stick so we decided not to name this one unless we get the positive test.
I definitely can sympathize about how it must feel to be pregnant again after loss, although I haven’t been through it yet I can imagine. It sounds like you’re doing great! Are you back at work and stuff now?
I’m just lounging this weekend. I’m still not great today, it’s definitely the progesterone - hot flushes and night sweats, tired and a little faint, cramping, all things that can be progesterone side effects. My husband has been great taking care of me, but I know it’s not nice for him to see me like this either.
Do you have any weekend plans?

Re: January 2025
Why do weekends always go so quickly?!
How’s everyone doing? I feel awful today, so tired and I woke up with a bad headache and now feeling nauseous. Hoping it’s the HCG!!
We had a fairly chilled weekend and caught up with some friends but Mondays come round far to quickly! I was back in the office last week and got a full diary again this week!

Almost there Kat!! You haven’t tested yet?
Steph, enjoy the nausea! When I thought that way when I was pregnant before I miscarried, it helped so much!
Im still feeling similar to how I have since Friday, maybe slightly better, but now I have rashes from the Lubion too
The gift that keeps on giving!

Kay, you’re almost there! Only one more day, fingers crossed for a positive for you.
Rachel. I got rashes and raised patches from the lubion on my last cycle, have you been using an ice pack? I found it really helped! It’ll all be worth it xx

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all ok.
Steph - hope you feel better today. Not long now to your scan! Do you know what they are hoping to see at this point? I cant remember. My fingers and toes are crossed for you.
Rachel - How are you feeling now? When is your test date? I hope you have been able to take it easy and keep distracted from the waiting game!
Kay - hello! Not long until test date for you now! Fingers crossed for you! Will you wait until tomorrow?
Nevergiveup - how are you? Hope that you have been able to speak to the doctors and get some rest after it all.
As an update for me, we are very grateful that our one embryo made it to day 5 and was ok for transfer. The quality was middle of the range so not sure how to feel about that really. We had the transfer yesterday so trying to keep relaxed at work, drink lots of water and keep distracted. My test date will be two weeks from yesterday so 24 Feb. I do plan to test earlier than that but not sure when and will just see how i am feeling.
xx
Hope you are all ok.

Lorelei, I’m so glad you got a day 5 blastocyst!!! I know it wasn’t what you would have wanted but who knows - this could be it! Glad you are resting and taking it easy.
Steph, yeah I’ve been using ice packs and some moisturizer I had from my excema that is pregnancy safe. I also called care and they said I could take Claritin. My spots are all over my body, were yours too?

Re: January 2025
Lorelai, that is brilliant news, I’ve been wondering how you were getting on and hoped your little one made it.
I honestly wouldn’t worry about the grade at all. I’m not convinced by the care maps AI/ grading, I had a top quality embryo fail to implant but the embryo we transferred this time is only average quality but it passed PGT-A and implanted!
My scan should hopefully show the fetal pole and baby’s heartbeat.
Rach, that sounds uncomfortable. My rash and raised lump was just isolated to the injection site. You’re really going through it aren’t you!

Yeah, I have every symptom under the sun this time! Care gave me the name of a safe antihistamine to try and I just took it so fingers crossed that helps with the itching at least. One week today!

Re: January 2025
Kay did you do a digital test? With my recent chemical after my MMC I was so nervous something would go wrong so I tested a few times wanting the 1-2 weeks to turn into 2-3 weeks and then onwards to 3 plus. Mine never turned from the 1-2 weeks.
It’s something I thought would give me the reassurance but equally don’t rely 100% on that if you do retest as it can take a while for hcg to rise. If I didn’t retest then I wouldn’t have found my chemical out which I’m glad I did because going to a scan to hear a negative it hard.
You have totally got this, 4th time lucky for you. Enjoy every minute of being pregnant its the most amazing thing. I loved being able to feel my baby inside when they are big enough I really wish I could experience that again.
We got a clear blue ovulation test this month for the first time and tried that. My MMC was a surprise with no ivf involved, we were waiting to start meds for a FET and my period just never arrived so I have everything crossed that I get a miracle and in a couple of weeks I’ll know although I’m not holding my breath x
