Re: January 2025

Thank you Steph :)

Never give up, so sorry to hear that you went through a rough time. This has been my thing too I would rather know and get used to it then get excited and be devestated that day. I think I might get some so if they turn from like 1-2, 2-3 etc that would mean it’s progressing well I guess?

I really hope it works out for you too, I keep everything crossed for us all that we get our babies ❤️

Re: January 2025

hi everyone,

Steph - that is such wonderful news!!!!! Congratulations. How are you feeling? What comes next for you now?

Kai - again, wonderful news!!!!! Congratulations. How are you feeling?

Rachel - your test date is getting closer, how are you feeling? I hope your skin is more comfortable.

I am only a couple of days after transfer but it feels like it has been AGES! We also have a stomach bug in the house so I am a little nervous about that now.

Re: January 2025

Hi NGU and Lorelai,

I am feeling emotionally drained- I’d got myself so worked up over the scan and I’m exhausted, nauseous too!! But I am so happy and relieved that our little one is thriving in there! I just hope our positive journey continues!

I have been discharged from Care now! Next up will be a scan in roughly two weeks at the recurrent miscarriage clinic.

We also had the analysis of our PGT-A testing this morning and not one of our grade 10 embryos came back normal. We had 1 x grade 9, 2 x grade 8’s and 1 x grade 4 come back as Euploid. If PGT-A is correct, we have saved ourselves the transfer of 3 x grade 10 embryos and a lucky dip on 1 of our 3 x grade 9’s embryos being successful.

Lorelai, I hope this gives you some reassurance that lower grade embryos can be perfect!

The waits are so hard but hopefully they will all be worth it! I’m back on another 2 week countdown now!

Steph, so happy for you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Lorelei, that’s so annoying about the bug, hopefully you don’t get it! I always feel like the beginning and end of the wait are the slowest, it seems to speed up a bit in the middle. How are you feeling physically?

I’m on anti-histamines now which are definitely helping, so that’s a relief! I’m trying not ti worry about the test as much as possible, just enjoy the time at home. We’ll see how much longer I can maintain it.

How is everyone doing today?

Steph - thank you for sharing on your embryos. I have everything crossed for our transfer. So pleased to hear you have been discharged from Care after a successful scan. Really big milestone!

Rachel - glad you are feeling better and enjoying your time at home. Keeping positive and relaxed is so important.

I am feeling tired today but otherwise quite normal other than bloated. Trying not to over think anything but the TWW is dragging for me!

Re: January 2025

Lorelei, what are you doing to fill the time? I’ve been watching Heartbreaker, which I strongly recommend!

I had a pretty upsetting day. First my husband told me that our best friends are pregnant (we suspected cause she wasn’t drinking last time I saw her, but it still is tough), and obviously I would want to be happy for them but it’s hard when they already have a little boy and I planned that baby shower and will probably plan this one for her too. It just puts more pressure on this try, it feels like.
Then I decided to triple check with Care about the anti-histamines because I’ve taken them for 3 days and just don’t want to hurt my chances - turns out they forgot to tell me to take them every other day or cut the tablets in half!!! They are so incompetent sometimes!! Good fricken thing I triple checked!! I complained and got on the phone with the doctor who did her best to assure me it won’t harm my chances and I should just reduce my anti-histamine intake from now, so hopefully she is right and hopefully my itchy spots are bearable with a lower dose.
Just a lot to take in for one day!

Happy Galentines girls!

Aww, Rachel, that sucks. The day we got our positive, Mark got a call from one of his best mates saying they were pregnant and I felt so frustrated by it!

That’s so annoying about your anti histamines and worrying that Care didn’t warn you. I’m sure it won’t affect implantation, it’s probably more a risk of passing through a placenta. Has it subsided/ improved at all?

Re: January 2025

Yeah, other people can be so nonchalant about it, they don’t realize what a luxury it is!

I’ve just stopped the anti-histamines completely. The itching is mostly just around the injection site now, but I still have red bumps all over my body. My husband walked in the other day after I got out of the shower and was like “you’re a polka dot human!” Which is unfortunately a great description at the moment. I just hope it all didn’t effect our chances.

Re: January 2025

Rachel is there anything that you can put in your skin like a cream antihistamine, sudocrem has antihistamine in it and that’s for babies. I’ve used that for bites etc before and then you are digesting anything and you could just put it in the lumps to stop them being itchy and hot. Just an idea that you might want to try or savlon but I’m not sure if you can use that if pregnant.
You could always check if sudocrem is safe but you can use on newborn babies so it should be fine x

Re: January 2025

Plus the embryo doesn’t take anything from you until the placenta kicks in around week 10-12 I believe as it gets all it needs from itself so I won’t worry too much about the embryo being compromised. It is very annoying that they have mislead you though. We have had many issues with care including sperm analysis not being done for over an hour and ordering meds and them saying it’s been done and waiting 2-3 days and them not arriving to be told no one has ordered them so I totally get your frustration. We wrote to complain because there were many more issues on top of those couple and we got a refund of the analysis for their error. Try to relax about it for now and if it works then forget it and don’t worry but if it doesn’t then complain about it in writing and see what they do x

Re: January 2025

Hi!

Yes another weekend down and a few more days closer to our next milestones. Unfortunately I caught the sickness bug from my little boy on Friday and have been wiped out the whole weekend. Terrible timing really as Friday was day 4 after transfer for me. I have also started spotting today and this would be my usual timeframe for my period from the date of egg collection so I am feeling disappointed. I have one week from today before my OTD but now the wait is feeling really hard.

How are you all doing? xx

Lorelai, don’t lose hope yet, you are in the right time window for implantation bleeding and it might just be that.

Has your sickness big passed? Are you off work at the moment and able to get some rest?

I’m OK, I don’t feel quite as nauseous today which I’m not sure I’m overly happy about! I really didn’t sleep great last night and I’m absolutely shattered. Roll on 5pm!

Re: January 2025

Lorelei, definitely still hold onto hope, especially cause you’re on blood thinners, aren’t you? Could be really less than it looks like. And I’ve learned from this whole roller coaster to expect the unexpected.

I’m sorry you are both not feeling too good! I hope it gets better soon!

I’m trying not to think about test day too much, whatever will be will be. That’s what I’m trying to tell myself anyway.

Wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow Rachel!

Lorelai, hope you’re doing OK!

This whole process is a rollercoaster and I can definitely say no pregnancy or implantation is the same! Xx

Re: January 2025

My test was negative. We’re thinking about changing clinics, since Care have really let us down with results and with nursing care and answering phones and especially the anti-histamine fiasco was just the cherry on top. Has anyone ever been to any other clinics?

Re: January 2025

Hi,

Rachel, I am so sorry to hear your test result. How are you feeling? Do you have a discussion with a consultant next?

I dont have any experience with any other clinics but we dont have any other private options near us so a change wouldnt be possible for us. I do think sometimes having a fresh perspective can be helpful. Things can vary so much between consultants even within Care.

Unfortunately I have started to bleed so much. I wasnt sure if I should continue taking the medication so I took a test - it was unsurprisingly negative. I called Care and they have said if i have any doubt then I should continue with medication and then test on Monday. I know 99.9% that its not worked but think i will just continue until Monday, just because I feel that is the right thing to do.

Feeling quite sad about it though, the prospect of another cycle is hard to think about. How quickly have you guys gone from fresh cycle to fresh cycle?

Re: January 2025

Hi Lorelai,

Sorry to hear you’ve started bleeding. Definitely carry on with your meds. I had bleeding on both of my previous pregnancies well before scans or miscarrying and baby was fine!

In terms of next cycles. I had my first egg collection on 1st Dec 2023 and then started my stims for my second collection on 12th February 2024! I was fairly quick. We went away for a week in between cycles to have a mental reset and by the time I was starting stims, I felt ready and positive to go again! I definitely couldn’t have faced it any sooner though!

I really hope everything is ok!

Re: January 2025

Lorelei, I’m so sorry to hear you started bleeding and I sincerely hope it’s all okay. We need some good news as a group, don’t we? I’ve only had one fresh cycle so far, so can’t answer that question unfortunately.

We’ve decided to definitely leave Care. We’re going to TFP Nurture Nottingham. It’s a smaller clinic with better results and better user ratings. It’s also open 7 days a week full service and I think just the change will be good. We do have a review booked with our Care consultant for 21 March (that’s another horrible part of Care - that was the first appointment available!)

Steph, how are you doing?

Re: January 2025

Rachel were you with care Nottingham? I ask because you say you are going to nurture Nottingham and saying you had various issues with care.
We had many issues previously and are with Nottingham so just wondered if it’s the same clinic.

An update for everyone in case anyone is interested… during our follow up consultation we asked if it would help to do various blood tests before our next ER and there was a big list. It would have cost nearly 800 pounds to do through care. I asked my gp and he said he would request what he could through the system and then manually hand write the rest. I had my bloods taken on Friday, 6 viles and hopefully they test everything even the hand written requests as those ones were requested by chance as not on the system to request, classes as secondary care. Hopefully get the results in a week. Then we will have to take it from there and also look into paying for another multi cycle.

Lorelai sorry to hear about the bleeding. I bled with my my kids and they are snuggled up with me now so don’t worry too much. Hope it goes well when you test.

How is everyone else doing? x

Re: January 2025

Hi girls,

Rachel, I’m so glad you’ve got a plan and now have a way forward. Hopefully you can get your next egg collection underway fairly quickly.

NGU, that’s great news! Care told me the same thing with tests and prices and I got mine through the RMC. After we had our second miscarriage we just wanted to test everything we could. Did your consultant mention anything about PGT-A? I know people have mixed views of it. Or any add Ons to your treatment, like Zymot or Embryo Glue?

I’m doing ok, feeling pretty much the same; general nausea but not being sick and still loving my naps! Just hoping our little one is still growing and we haven’t lost it with another missed miscarriage. The anxiety is a real battle for me. We have our next scan on Thursday so crossing everything for that!
