We are going to lake Maggiore, hopefully weather is decent!
OTD is Friday but think I’ll test Tue or Wed.

Oh glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better!

Hi Lucy,

I understand the cost and hassle of ordering more meds and bringing them with you abroad, and I myself have tested early on occasion.

But…

If your early test is negative. I cannot advise strongly enough to keep taking your meds and still test on Friday. Two or three days is still a long time for an embryo to settle in and for HCG to rise, and you don’t want to jeopardize anything by stopping your meds too soon.

In your place, I’d be ordering extra meds first thing tomorrow and preparing for the best case scenario while you’re away so you don’t have to worry about it.

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

Thanks Cheshirekat, really good advice! I doubled checked my meds yesterday and I have enough to cover me until end of Monday so that’s made me relax a bit more!
I actually tested yesterday 6dp5dt and got a v faint line. Tested again this morning to check if it was an evap line but it is def a faint pink line so BFP!
Will see how it develops over this week but will plan to order more meds.

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

Hey, all good here! Tests are still showing nice and strong. A few episodes of nausea, back ache & some tummy tightening but no major consistent symptoms really - think those I have had are prob from the meds!
How are you Kelly - how many weeks now? Do I remember you had scans with care at 6 & 8 weeks? If so, is that the norm for your clinic or do they normally I just do one?

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

That’s good to hear Lucy! I don’t think my symptoms kicked in for a few weeks. I’m feeling better thanks although still tired. I’m 17 weeks now. I think the usual for care is first scan around 8 weeks and just the one, I had one at 6 weeks because of my history with ectopic

Yes I’m sure you’re feeling very tired! Hopefully you’ll feel kicks soon :D
Ahh interesting, my scan is booked for about 6.5 weeks which feels early (not that I’m complaining!). I’ll def want another one before 12 weeks but maybe do that privately!

They might do you another one! I had mine at 6 weeks and she was just like I’ll book you in for another because it’s a bit long to wait until your 12 wk nhs one! Hopefully you get someone nice like that!
I had a private scan last week to confirm gender.. it’s a boyyy and she also said my placenta is anterior so can take a bit longer to feel baby.. I’m hoping soon though. I thought I could feel summersaults last night but might have been imagining it lol

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

Hi MSS, do they know why only one made it? Sperm or egg quality issue? But, it does only take one! The test although expensive is probably best in long run to give your one the best chance of success! 2025 will be your year! I really look forward to hearing of your success 😊
I am ok thanks, half way there now, had my 20 week scan this week and all is looking normal which is a relief! X

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

Hey! Hopefully the 1 is all you need MSS, it’s crazy what the drop off rate can be. Sorry to hear about the extra cost of more tests :-(

Kelly - great news on the scan. Can’t believe you’re 20 weeks already!

We had another scan today, 8.5weeks and looking good so discharged from Care. Also had my midwife booking app on the same day so busy day! I have been feeling so sick, and being sick a few times. Much worse than when pregnant before - it’s relentless all day!

Hi ladies how you guys going? Just wondered did any of you had to use estrogen patches? If yes how did you managed to keep them dry when having a shower?

Hi everyone, how are you all doing? Hope great and babies are doing perfect ❤️

I had a fresh cycle in Sept or Oct only got two embryos, first one failed. Thy out me on inhixa during that because of sticky blood I have. I will continue that on frozen round. They are also gonna do a lining scratch which I a dreading has anyone had it?

If that cycle fails too we have one more and I think they will then do tests for immunity.

Xx

They’re pretty water resistant. I’ve taken loads of baths with them and only had them peel off only a few times - for the most part, they’re very sticky and difficult to remove. If it does fall off, replace, but I wouldn’t worry much at all about getting it wet, especially showering.

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

Hi kay good to hear from you I'm sorry to hear your last cycle failed. I am in the process of having a EndomeTRIO testing and that will take place Tuesday.
I did a fresh cycle egg collection in October 12 eggs were collected but only got 2. One is a poor quality and the other is better. Consultant has suggested to put both embryos.

Hi chesirekats thank you for messaging back. How are you getting on?

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

I’m getting on well - 14 weeks pregnant at the moment and things seem to be heading continually in the right direction after three scans. The transition from Care to NHS hasn’t been as easy as I hoped (lots of stupid little issues), but I’ll continue to be my own advocate. Just glad to be off most of my meds - though aspirin has been added - and had a good first trimester.

Re: April/ May 2024 cycle buddies

Hi everyone, sorry hadn’t checked in here for a while.

MSS - I’m afraid I’ve not used estrogen patches so no advice - sorry. Hope the testing gives some answers.

Best of luck to you & kay for your next transfers. Have everything crossed for you.
That makes sense about maybe putting two in at once as hopefully one will work - and nice surprise if they both do!

Cheshirekat - that’s a shame your transfer to NHS didn’t go smoothly. I’m also 14 weeks, almost 15. Had 2 scans with care & then discharged at 8 weeks. Had a private scan and NIPT testing privately at 10 weeks and then the nhs 12 week scan. 20 week scan feels a very long way away. Have been incredibly sick, especially the last 4 weeks but hopefully easing now!
