May 2023 Cycle

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all well.
I am hoping there will be more than just me on this thread for anyone going through IVF cycles in May 2023.
Some background info on me:-
First time being part of the IVF ICSI process with my husband.

06/04/23 - Started Norithisterone medication
22/04/23 - Gonal F injections started
03/05/23 - Egg retrieval planned
08/05/23 - Provisional embryo transfer planned

This is my first time with the IVF Process so hoping I can learn and pick up tips and any knowledge from others whether they are also first timers or have been through the process before.

Also hoping for some moral support from others on this journey and hope to also offer others the same!

Myself and my husband have just about managed to master the initial injections whilst both being scared of them! 😂

Look forward to speaking to others on the same journey!

Good luck to everyone else on here too.
(P.S. i am jot familiar with all the different abbreviation although have tried to google a few so sorry if i don’t use them!)

Hello!
I think I will probably do a Frozen transfer this month as well although have to wait for my period to kick in beginning of May. More likely the transfer would be towards the end of May.

I had an IVF cycle in Feb and following a failed transfer so taken out a couple of month to deal with the emotions of that.

Good luck with all the injections! They are not nice but the good thing is that it's only about 2 weeks and you'll be done with it!

Hey Zoe.S! Sounds like you’re a cocktail of the good stuff right now - how are you feeling?

I am also on the IVF ICSI route with my husband. We sadly had our fresh embryo transfer fail in Sept 22 and then our frozen transfer was successful in the Nov but miscarried at 10 weeks. It’s been a lot. But somehow we’re here again for another roll at the dice. My transfer is booked for 4th May, so I’ll be 4 days ahead of you.

How are you feeling about egg collection?

Hi zoe.s hope your feeling ok with the mixture of drugs it's alot to do but you soon get the hang of it.

I'm having a frozen transfer in May just waiting for my period this week and will then start oestrogen tablets. We started ICSI IVF similar to you back last year in April which unfortunately failed but then had a frozen transfer in November which was successful but unfortunately ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks.

Good luck with everything x

Re: May 2023 Cycle

Hi all,

I hope everyone who is doing ok.

For me I feel like this cycle is going on forever, since Christmas to be precise!
I had my cycle cancelled in January in the monitoring stage so then had to restart and got my egg collection early March in the end, but because of doing a freeze all to PGTA test have then had to wait for the results etc and then missed a month by a few days.
So here I am waiting for my next period and my baseline scan mid may with a potential transfer date of 1st June. Doing an immune protocol for the first time so all a bit different to past cycles, but will be glad to get to transfer after nearly 6 months working towards it - impatient would be an understatement

Re: May 2023 Cycle

Hi LG2023, sorry to hear about your feb cycle and i hope your next transfer is successful!

@stargirl - hi, i was struggling with the injections but they’re over soon as i started to get a little used to them! I just would feel bloated all the time at the beginning but then was okay by the end thankfully!

Oohhh you will have had your transfer by now, sorry I’ve not been on here as it would not l
Et me onto the forums for some reason till today, was as though I had been locked out! Hope you are doing well and taking time to rest xx
Before my egg collection at my scan i was told i inly had 3 good follicles and they didnt want to give me a couple more days on the stimulation meds so when egg collection came around i was quite negative within myself about the amount they would collect. Thankfully we had 9 eggs out of which 5 were good for fertilisation.
Sorry to hear about your loss, i cant imagine how much of a rollercoaster that must have been for you..will be keeping everything crossed for you xx

@kim89 - good luck for your frozen transfer in May!
I am sorry to hear about your loss, it is not in any way easy to be part of this process and i hope your May cycle is successful!

Sending positive baby making vibes to you all and keeping fingers crossed for you all!!

Today is my first transfer day and I’m feeling quite nervous and haven’t slept too well as kept dreaming I had zero to transfer today as I knew i was waiting for a phone call this morning. So far we have only 3 that the embryologist described as good grade and reached the right stage so two will be frozen and they will check on the other two tomorrow again!

Re: May 2023 Cycle

Good luck Zoe.S. Hope today goes smoothly for you.

I join Kim89 and Stargirl with my second FET happening this month after a missed miscarriage from my nov transfer.

Realised my transfer is exactly 6 months to the date - 10 nov and now 10 May. Hopefully it’s a good thing.

I have my progesterone check tomorrow and then hopefully transfer Weds.

I’m not surprised you haven’t slept well. It’s all so tricky isn’t it. Plenty of time to rest after though so don’t worry x

Hey Zoe.s how was transfer?

Hope you’ve managed to get some rest this afternoon. I always sleep afterwards from the stress of the morning.

I’m 4 days into the TWW so glad to have you for company! I’ve already lost the plot and took a pregnancy test yesterday morning. Hopefully going back to work tomorrow will take me out of my head.

Glad your transfer went well. Hope you are finding the tww ok. Sadly I cancelled our transfer this morning, I have been poorly all weekend and in the end decided I should wait till I felt better physically!

@applecart-
Aww i hope you feel better soon!!
Sometimes have to look after our health to feel confident!
I am going a little loopy waiting for test day now.
Ive not had any symptoms other than some cramping the day of transfer and a few twinges the day after transfer. Ive had sore boobs with the cyclogest and found a lot of the bloating i had went down the day after transfer. I don’t know whether no symptoms is a good thing or not and trying not to use google!
Did anyone else experience any symptoms during tww?

Re: May 2023 Cycle

Hey Zoe.s

I think symptom spotting is probably pointless since I’ve had sooo many symptoms this time that have made me think it’s worked, but it’s looking likely it hasn’t (I’m an early tester). Everyone seems to be totally different too. Most of the symptoms are coming from the hormones we are on.

It’s so difficult isn’t it. I’m with you! How long have you got left to wait?

@Stargirl
I have got till the 19th May to test, and purposely haven’t bought any tests so have none in the house to use!

I literally have had zero symptoms and i did actually google a few symptoms so was annoyed i haven’t had any!
I know i have some soreness due to the hormones i am on but other than that not feeling anything at all! Just feeling like i am in limbo! Had the worst migraine due to neck and shoulder pain and had to take it easy as a result of that but not being able to take anti inflammatory meds to help has been very annoying as paracetamol just hasn’t been cutting it for me with the pain.

Hoping the inflammation reduces tomorrow and i can enjoy the warmer weather!

Aww Im sorry to hear that although from what I've read from other people in some of the forum chats it isn’t always accurate initially, what date did the clinic say you are supposed to test..?
It really is difficult isn’t it! I don’t know what to do with myself and glad its the weekend to be honest as wasn’t able to concentrate on work very well this week!

How bizarre. I’ve had awful neck and shoulder pain since Wednesday. I’ve put it down to the stress and anxiety of the wait and then sleeping tense.

Test day is Tuesday for me, but I’m confident it’s negative.

Last time I got a positive, I was off work for 3 weeks and although I drive myself mad in the wait, I think time to rest helped me. I’ll be blaming a failure on all sorts this time.

Have you got nice plans?

Aww im sorry to hear that!!
Hope you have some nice things planned after next week regardless of the outcome.

I haven’t got anything planned at all really, i did visit a farm with the nephews and nieces today which was lovely but have had a few cramps after so now just lying down relaxing before dinner!

Im scared to do much to be honest as not sure what will or may be harmful and/or something that may cause issues or not, its soo annoying that the two weeks feels like a lifetime 😏

Hey ladies

Stargirl how are you? Try and keep in there bless you it's not over yet really hope you get a nice surprise on otd. I didn't test before date on last cycle and when we did on otd the care test lines were faint even on that day clearblue was normal lines and got stronger 5 days after otd so if anything it could just be not enough hcg levels yet. Your doing great keep going hun. X

Zoe.S congratulations on being pupo when is your test day? I know it's hard in the 2ww but just keep going I will be joining you on Tuesday in the wait. X

Hi Kim89!,
My test day is 19th May yet, so feel like ive got forever to go!
I cannot begin to tell you how slow this week has been for me and it seems like ages ago since transfer day already.
4 days to go after today so not too long and hoping and praying for the best although have been having a couple of PMS symptoms the past day or so which is worrying me as it could go either way!!
Resisting the urge to test! Ordered some tests today so hoping can hold out!!
Aww good luck with your 2 week wait too!

Tested today as the husband was against me testing earlier although initially had an urge to test 5 days post transfer but didn’t have teats at home so couldn’t anyways - that helped me not to test!
Today after testing i I have a BFP..!
Couldn’t quite believe it to be honest, still don’t really!
I think till im able to hear a heartbeat in a scan and get past the first trimester at least it will still be unbelievable!
How was your testing on Tuesday?

@Kim -
Thank you for wishing me luck, its felt like the longest two weeks in my life but we got a positive result today.

I used first response and clear blue just to be sure sure and both were clear positives!
Feeling very mixed emotions right now just hoping now that things will be okay up until the scan and then at the scan so another wait till that!
