Re: November 2022

I get thrush whenever i'm on antibiotics, but it's super easy to sort out. I just went to Boots, got a cannestan pill and the thrush was gone in a couple of days (I wasn't pregnant at the time). You can even just use live yoghurt 'up there' for a more natural treatment, so i'm sure it won't effect your cycle.

I'm getting my drugs delivered today starting to feel very real again now counting down the the 11th. I'm a bit worried though I think I am getting thrush 😔 sorry if tmi but I have rung the clinic to check if I can take medication before I start down reg really hope it won't effect me starting my cycle. Has this happened to any of you before? X

Re: November 2022

Went for a scan and blood test today at the hospital, which I thought was my 12 week one moved forward to 10 weeks, but it turns out it was just a dating scan and they thought I was having the private £405 IONA test. Anyway, in the end I did go for the IONA because I couldn't stand the thought of waiting another 3-5 weeks to know if the baby has any genetic illnesses.

Baby looked fine on the scan, just midgut herniation which is apparently normal this early and should resolve itself by week 12.
And I'll know in 5 days if this baby is healthy or has any DNA issues. I'll also know the sex! (bonus!) :D (I've had feelings and a dream of a boy so we'll see how good or bad my intuition is)

This is frustrating that you thought it was the 12 week scan but turned out to be a rather expensive test? Have you had to book in your 12 week scan then?

Re: November 2022

I'll be having one at 13 weeks. I'm not quite sure how the confusion happened. When I called it was to see if I could move the 12wk scan & blood test earlier so that's what I thought they'd done. Probably got confused with all the terminology. She called it IONA test but the last time I had it, it was called NIPT. So I thought she was referring to the free blood test genetic screening, not the one you have to pay for.

I'll need to be careful communicating with her I think because she said she'd book me in an additional 16wk appointment with the consultant but I can see that's not been done yet.

Re: November 2022

Good news! The IONA test has come back as low risk (<0.01%) for downs, Edwards and Patau's :D :D :D

And we're having a boy!

I feel I can finally relax a bit now and accept that I'm having a baby :D

Hopefully it’s on its way out for you now. When’s the 12 week scan?

My next scan is 20 weeks in 2 weeks’ time. My last scan was at 15 weeks which looked good and we heard the heartbeat this week at the 16 week midwife appointment. I’m anxious to get this 20 week scan done..

Re: November 2022

Hi guys,
Sorry decided to have a bit of a break during the tww this time. OTD was today and it was positive. I have been testing since day 7 (forever an early tester I think) and have tested every day on cheap tests. A little paranoid that the last few days have started getting lighter (😬) but holding out hope that everything is ok this time. I did a first response on day 7, 10 and 15(today). Day 10 and today were stronger than day 5 but todays was similar to day 10. In case you have t realised I’m basically having line strength obsession. Think it’s after the chemical last time. Have to ring clinic on Monday and then hopefully only 3 weeks to scan x

So I know they are a bit iffy anyway but I got a 2-3 weeks on a clearblue this morning so happy with that. Technically 5 weeks today and 2-3 means 4-5 so seems ok.

This is so so reassuring!! Now try to step away from the tests! Easier said than done I know. Great news and a great hurdle.

Let us know when your scan is ✨

I suppose the positive to this is you won’t be working and you can make Christmas as busy/relaxing as you need to!

How have you been feeling?

@applecart Yay! Congratulations!!! Superb news. :D

I was an early tester too (from 6dpt). I wouldn't worry about the strength of the line, it just matters that it's there. Won't be long until your scan! :D
