Re: November 2022
Thanks stargirl I haven't got a start date yet I'm going to the clinic on Tuesday for a thyroid function test and just waiting on prescription price to come on my portal and protocol then I can get my date so hopefully not much longer now. X
Re: November 2022
@kim89 What's your next step once you have the all clear to begin? Do you have embryos left for an FET? Or are you starting again with egg collection?
Re: November 2022
Siba I'm having my thyroid function test today as consultant just wants to make sure it's 2.5 or lower and I'm waiting for my protocol to be sent to me and hoping to start in November. We don't have any frozen embryos left anymore so starting a fresh cycle again which I always think are tougher to do then the fet x
Re: November 2022
Kim89 hope the test went ok. Brilliant news about your 7 week scan Siba.
I went for my day 10 (on day 12) scan yesterday and of course it wasn’t straight forward. There was some fluid showing (same as last time) so waiting to hear back about the consultants opinion. She wasn’t worried last time and went ahead but then that partly why I took the course of antibiotics to just make sure and now it’s happened again
also I have an active follicle on one ovary so had to have tests to check it isn’t releasing hormones. I had this was my very first, successful, round so trying to take it as actually a positive sign! Dr said she would ring me at 11 to let me know what the plan is. If we go ahead then she said my transfer might be next Friday. This is a little later than I am used to being day 22 but sure it’s fine.

Re: November 2022
Hi ladies. Just playing catch up after a very long break from here!
Stargirl - I am SO made up for you making it safely through the first trimester. I bet it doesn’t feel real
At times but so amazing!
Siba - also a huge congratulations - hope you’re not feeling too sick?
Kim89 - lovely to see that you’re progressing and ticking off the boxes to your next collection. It’ll come round in no time. Do you have all your results in now?
Applecart - sorry to hear it’s not straight forward again. Did you hear back from your consultant? It’s never simple on this journey is it!
Little update from me - the miscarriage again, wasnt simple. It ended up with a lot of back and forth as it took about 8 weeks and ended up with an infection as they left me again… so another course of antibiotics but I did manage to squeeze 2 holidays in so not all bad
We had our karyotype results back today and they were all normal so that’s a relief. Just waiting for them to PGTA our frozen embryos but the embryologist really concerned me with all the stats and potential of not thawing well enough to biopsy etc which I know they have to do but they’re going to call my husband tomorrow and he can decide what to do as I got too overwhelmed haha. Has anyone had PGTA on frozen embryos… or PGTA in general?
I’ve also opted to have the Trio test so that we’ve tested everything we possibly can. Still no answers as to why we’ve had the 3 miscarriages but I’ve told myself we will have all this testing done , enjoy Christmas and then either do a FET in jan or another egg collection, depending on how the PGTA goes. Hopefully all the testing is just one step closer to getting our miracle baby Xx

Hi ladies hope your all doing well.
Kmor glad to speak to you again hope you get some answers soon I have had my thyroid function test results and my levels are 8.6 when they need to be 2.5 or lower so I have had a private prescription come through which I'm starting tommorw for my thyroid but will still be starting in November as the clinic belive the tablets will bring my levels down by time of stimulation so that's all good no delays so far
. X
Applecart thanks like I have put to kmor my results show I need thyroid medication but shouldn't delay cycle ao that's good. Sorry to hear things are going straight forward but I'm sure all be worth it and that's good your thinking positive. Hope transfer goes well. X
Glad I have had my level 1 tests even though there were issues at least there are reasons why the last 3 cycles were not successful and 1 ending in mmc so I'm glad I will be om extra medication on this cycle to help with immunity and blood clotting. X

Re: November 2022
Hi All, I am still here and keeping an eye on your journeys.
@Kmor I have had PGT-A done but only on fresh embryos after collection. Even though they were not the results I wanted I wish it was offered to woman as standard sooner it would of put us through a lot less pain and heartache.

Re: November 2022
@kmor I don't know how I feel about the PGTA testing. That's because:
- Care told me that with the testing I could expect to lose 90% of my embryos (10% good, 90% bad).
- When my last baby had Downs, the specialist doctor at the hospital told me the chance of me having another baby with any DNA/genetic issues is 1 in 50 (98% good, 2% bad). And ordinarily my chance would be 1 in 100 but because i've had one poorly baby, my risk increases to 1 in 50.
Now those two statistics are not just slightly different, they're significantly different and that greatly concerns me. I'm not totally convinced of the accuracy of the PGTA testing. But i'm also not young enough to do the testing and risk losing my embryos as i'm too old to start again with egg collection, so I'm having to just go through my embryos one by one and hope it's the consultant who's right.

Re: November 2022
Oh gosh, that’s food for thought. We hadn’t been given any of that information but our consultant thinks it’s worthwhile given I’ve had 3 miscarriages from all 3 transfers and my testing so far has all been normal
I’m 34 and got 6 blastocysts from my first cycle last year (at 33) but they don’t know why I keep miscarrying. I’m going to do the trio test asap and see if that brings anything back for us - I’m not sure I could cope with another miscarriage and I thought the PGTA might be our answer but I’d hate to lose all the blastocysts! Argh such tough decisions - I wish there was a magic wand somewhere that just told you exactly what you needed to do haha
Thank you for sharing Russelg - how are you doing? Lovely to hear from you
Kim89 - sorry you’re having to take more meds but glad you’ve got a plan!

Hi Kmor, I am OK thanks just getting on with life. I wish there was a magic wand sometimes as well to tell us what decision to make. I am sure you will make the best decision which is right for you x
Re: November 2022
I went back for another scan on Thursday and in that one they could see that the cyst was seperate to my ovary so were happy with that and my blood tests showed I wasn’t ovulating. So we are on for transfer on Friday. Back to the clinic Thursday for my blood test. Starting pessaries and lubion today but don’t do inhixa until transfer day. Back into the world of running my life around medication timings.
Good news that you don’t need to delay KMor and have something to change. Lovely to hear from you Russellg x

Re: November 2022
Hey lovelies,
I keep checking in on you to see where you’re all up to.
@kmor it’s so good to hear from you and great news you’ve got a plan. Just feels like we have to make enormous decisions all the time when we’re already in a fragile state! I’m sure you’ll make the right one.
@russelg good to hear from you too. How are you keeping?
@kim89! Not long for you to start now. It’s good you’ve found a few more issues that are treatable. It’s a double edged sword because ideally nothing would be wrong but at least there’s hope that what has been found could well be the magic key!
@siba how are you? How long until the 12 week scan now?
I am 15 weeks. Taking it one day at a time but am still very anxious, assuming I’ll be anxious the whole way to be honest. I’ve got a little bump now which I just love and im praying this is it for us…

Hey ladies just a quick catch up.
Russellg so nice to hear from you hope your doing well. X
Siba how are you feeling and how far along are you now? X
Stargirl 15 weeks is amazing so happy for you and little bump bless you hope your taking it easy with it being half term this week. X
Applecart great news you can go ahead with transfer day will have my fingers crossed for you. X
Kmor how are you? Any progress with the tests? X
I now have my start date the 10th November so noy much longer now just waiting on the rest of the consent forms not sure if I have to do the modules again as already had a fresh cycle before and my cost estimate for drugs has come through so Nedd to get them ordered. Also on levothyroxine at the moment ao hopefully that will come down soon I got it wrong it's only 2.86 not 8.6
so I feel much better about my levels coming down below 2.5 by time of stimulation. Has anyone been on merifort or injixia before or steroids through cycle these are all new to me and wondered how they were? X

Re: November 2022
@applecart good luck for your transfer on Friday!
@stargirl congrats on the bump! I think once you've reached 15 weeks you're pretty safe. All the risks go right down. But I know it's hard to stop the anxiety, I think us IVF ladies are just guaranteed to worry throughout the whole thing! A friend of mine who also went through IVF had so much anxiety through pregnancy that built up so much that after the birth she attempted suicide, so please keep an eye on it and seek help if you find it's getting too much.
@russellg great to see you popped back to check on us all. How are you doing?
@kim good luck with your next cycle!
I'm week 9 now. I was soooooo sick last week and the anti sickness pills i've been raving about were useless so I stopped taking them. Fortunately i've not been sick since Friday so i'm hoping that i'm over the worst of it (although of course then you start wondering if the baby is still ok in there). I'm still very nauseous and laid on the sofa all day but i'm just thankful to not be vomiting at the moment as I absolutely hate it!
I'm having my 12 week scan at the hospital next Monday at week 10. Because of my previous loss, I managed to convince them to break the rules and scan me earlier, so at least I have more time for any follow up tests etc. I'm so worried they'll find fluid on the back of the neck again, even though I know it's a 1 in 50 chance, the 12 week scan is where it all went wrong last time so i'm dreading it.

Oh guys I really do feel like the world is trying to tell me something. I am ill. It came on really quickly Monday. I was sick Monday night and this morning. The clinic have said to see how I feel tomorrow. The advice is if I actively feel unwell to postpone. This is like an almost exact copy of what happened in May. I just feel so disheartened x

@applecart Oh no! Rest lots today and drink lots of hot lemon. I really hope you feel well enough to proceed tomorrow, but if not, I know it's really disappointing but it will be for the best and those few weeks will go by quicker than you think. You want to give little embryo the very best chance of success

Re: November 2022
Thanks Stargirl and Siba you have made me feel better. There were lots of tears trying to decide what to do. It was just unbelievable coz it was exactly the same as in May when we did cancel. I defo felt much better this time though and was well enough to go ahead. The dr did say that being ill before the transfer and having a cough on the day and after wouldn’t affect it but it’s still nice to hear it from people that have actually experienced it. And of course I’ve still googled “does coughing affect implantation”
