Thanks both. I stopped my medication after the appointment yesterday as my consultant told me to and she is hopeful that it will all happen naturally. I was anxious about deciding on surgery or not again so glad I might not need to make that decision x

Applecart - I’m so sorry. Are you ok?

Siba - sorry about the delay. We had a meeting with a genetic counsellor on Friday which was super interesting and helpful. Essentially, yes only lost 1 embryo to the PGTA and the one that was a ‘mosaic’ result is down to us whether we’d want to use it. They said because it was just a result on one chromosome and it wasn’t on a chromosome that had prevalence for eg. Downes, it ‘could’ correct itself through pregnancy but carried a slightly higher risk of miscarriage , so I’m not sure I’d like to use it after my luck so far. But will proceed with the Euploid transfer in the new year once I’ve had a follow up biopsy.

Glad your meeting was useful KMor. Sounds like you have a plan going forwards into the new year. We have our review meeting with our consultant on 9th Jan so hopefully be joining you for a transfer in the new year. We have one good and one not so good quality left so I want to talk to her about transferring both. I’m not sure I have 2 transfers left in me but I also don't like the thought of stopping with any left. Not sure what she will say though.

My HCG levels have finally come down. They were down to 1000ish on Monday after I started bleeding on Sunday. I have to go back for one last test on Sun or Mon to make sure they are back to normal or at least very low. I’ve been off work this week but thinking I might go back Monday for a few festive weeks with the children before the holiday.

I had an early anomaly scan and baby is doing well. I think i can finally let myself stop worrying now. Well, it seems with babies, the HCPs always want you to be worrying about something so we'll see!

Hi ladies I have just caught uo on here with you all.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while just needed some headspace really my fresh cycle did not go well this time and that was our last one from the multi package so feel like we are back to square 1. They got 8 eggs this time last time was 15 and only 1 embryo made it to a viable stage for transfer but only made it to morlua stage on day 5 no blastocyst and the other 2 weren't good enough to freeze so no embryos left now. Had to do my test on boxing day and was negative. I'm just so confused as I was on a immunity protocol aswel this time and also I was put onto merifort for stimulation which is ment to have better results then ovaleap but on ovaleap they got 15 eggs and 3 embryos made it to blastocyst above average grades 2.2 and 2.1 but this time one one made it to transfer out of 3 and nine made blastocyst I don't understand how 2 cycles can be so different? Anyway so sorry I haven't been on but stargirl and siba hope all is well with you both. X

Kim89! Been thinking of you over Xmas. I’m sorry your fresh cycle hasn’t gone well - it also makes 0 sense to me? You’d think all the changes you’d made would only be a positive thing. Do you have a review appointment booked in? Just gutted for you.

Hope you’re all doing well and I know Xmas is such a horrid time of year for everyone. It’s been quite triggering for us knowing that last year we were pregnant and then we weren’t in Jan, but I suppose that’s grief for you.

I’m well thank you. I’m currently 24+5 weeks and have somehow relaxed into it, which I didn’t think was possible.

The ivf anxiety never ever goes away. It’s been at the back of my mind the entire time, hence I’m quiet but I am trying to stay updated with your journeys. x

Kim89! so sorry to hear your news I have been keeping an eye on the forum thinking of you. The difference in cycles makes no sense to me either do you have your review appointment yet? Take some time to recover always hard when you are self funded and have no embryos left thinking of you and sending hugs.

Russellg thankyou for thinking of me in just abut gutted really with the whole cycle my first fresh cycle I was on stims for alot longer then this one but thought it was because my body took longer last time as was on a better drug this time but now I just don't understand. We have spent thousands so far and now back to square one just makes me feel so disheartened and gutted financially and emotionally. Trying to stay positive and think it has to work at some point but how much longer is it going to take. How have you been? X

I have brought the big fat negative book so hoping that will help me through this hard time. X

I have the bfn book and loved it. Just dipped into the sections as & when needed.

It is so rubbish and hopefully your clinic will have some sort of answers/suggestions and then you’ll gather yourself like you’ve done before and find a way forward … like you have done before! It just feels shocking. The financial hit is just added salt to the wound.

Hopefully you can get through NYE, make it to the review and then the cloud will start to shift.

Stargirl aww that's good you have got the book looking forward to reading it. I found myself crying in burger King today as a little girl was looking at me smiling and looked like a lovely family just hit home. Then when I came home I decided right decorations down and deep clean took 5 hours but was the therapy I needed to tidy like a fresh start feel much better now. Thanks hun for being so nice x

@kim I'm so sorry to hear you only got one embryo and it didn't work. I'm as baffled as you as to why despite the extra treatment you were on you got less eggs and embryos. Makes no sense to me! And only comes back to the fact that IVF seems to be pot luck and there's still so much they don't know about how to make babies.

I don't know if it's any consolation but a friend of mine who had no known issues (she just wasn't getting pregnant) got lots of eggs out but not one viable embryo! Due to cost they had a break and got pregnant naturally.

Sometimes there just isn't any logic to it. You have my sympathy with regards to the cost, it's barely ethical in my eyes. I hope next time luck is in your favour

I am doing well thanks. Looking forward to a year with some holidays and trips planned. I can still find it hard sometimes but I am also enjoying getting on with my life without having to think about another treatment or will I be pregnant then.

Really pleased to hear that Russellg - sounds like some well needed relaxing time and lovely that you’re able to make plans again without the worry . I definitely know what you mean about having some freedom to just live your life - having 5 months off treatment has definitely helped me mentally, being able to do what we want x

I’m doing well thank you, aside from horrific back and pelvic pain but I’ll take it. My next scan is at 28 weeks (in 2 weeks’ time) as I’ve been consultant led and they’ve been really good to just offer me extra scans where possible.

How are you doing? Do you have plans to transfer this new year?

Siba thankyou I think it really is a pot luck thing looking forward to getting some reasons on my follow up review this month. I think I'm also baffled by it all because I'm 34 and thought that was a good age for ivf going to have a rest for a while and then see about going again later on this year. X

Kmor thanks for message the last 2 days have been better and feel slightly more positive which is good just got to keep looking forward really and wait to see what my consultant says on my review. X

Stargirl - so sorry that you’re in pain. Have they been able to give you anything to help at all? Eeks nearly 28 weeks, so exciting!

I had my follow up biopsy on 2nd Jan (happy new year ) so just waiting for my results now - should hopefully be sometime next week . Hoping that the antibiotics worked and I don’t need any more meds, so that we can do our next transfer with my next cycle. It will have been 7months since our last transfer by then so v ready to get going again! Xx

All ok over here - I had to have more antibiotics and probiotics so put my transfer back to March but we have a plan now. They didn’t change my protocol at all apart from giving me an extra Cyclogest so I asked about baby asprin , which the consultant apparently was like ‘she can have them if she wants. Shouldn’t do any harm’ so I’m not totally sure whether I’ll take them haha anyone got an experience with this? All being well should start my last FET with the Euploid embryo early March so sneaking a holiday in next week to make sure I’m Zen! Xx

Wow! It's crazy isn't it! I'm 25 weeks now.

Are you feeling OK or do you have any aches/pains/heartburn....? I'm lucky I feel absolutely fine. I just have the odd day where my stomach feels like it's really stretching inside which makes me feel nauseous.

Well that’s not persuasive with the baby aspirin is it? What’s research suggesting? What would it usually be used for?

Ooo where’s the holiday going to be? Totally needed and well-deserved. That’s a sure way of completely relaxing beforehand.

I’ve got shocking back and hip pain but I’ve been promised it’ll disappear once baby is here so I think I’ve just accepted that. Aside from that, I’d say good overall. Not had much heartburn tbh. What about you?

I’m not sure whether or not my nausea is creeping back in… I really hope not.
