October/November 21 scans … more waiting

Hi

I just wanted to start a new thread for scans in October/November .
I’m due my first care scan 02/11/21 and I’ve also booked a private scan next week for next week as I can’t wait.
I’ve had a fresh cycle with a double embryo transfer.
I thought the 2WW was bad then it’s more waiting again!
My OTD was 18/10 so will be about 5 + weeks at my private scan and 6 + weeks at the time of the care .scan.
Now keen to see if everything is going ok and if there is 1 or 2 babies growing in there.

If anyone’s with me would be good to see how your feeling in general and about the scan and what , if any symptoms you have had up to now.

Have you had your scan yet? Yes, I'm obviously wanting to mainly know if everything is ok at my Care scan, but as this is the first time we have ever put 2 embryos in, I'm freaking out quite a lot now about the possibility of twins!!

How are you? Are you coping with more waiting?

I have not long been back from my scan and it’s good news we saw a heartbeat and were measuring on track 5w6d.
They did see another sac which wasn’t as developed as the one with a heartbeat and said that this will be the other embryo that implanted but either it’s an early loss or it’s slower to develop.

We have the official care scan on Tuesday next week and then the clinic that did this scan will be doing another one the week after as part of the price.
I decided to wait til almost 6 weeks as that’s when the heart usually starts beating as didnt want to cause any unnecessary worry as it would have been a long week to wait.

What date is your scan? Have you decided on doing anything private? There’s always a possibility of twins if there’s been no bleeding and it’s a positive test but you just don’t know until you see it!

Oh great! That sounds really good to see a heartbeat then as I know it can be later in week 6 that people see it. My scan is on Thursday.

I'm ok but got really bad pregnancy insomnia and so I just feel shattered in the day which is especially hard on the days my son isn't in nursery. I want to be able to do fun stuff with him so I don't like feeling so rubbish

I was really pleased and also relieved.
Thursdays not too far away now so it will come around quickly.
I totally understand the insomnia I’m feeling the same can’t sleep then when I drift off I need to get up to use the toilet!
It must be harder for you with a younger one too bad it’s not like you can dose up on coffee to give you energy either!

How many weeks will you be on Thursday at your scan?

My one at care is Tuesday I will be 6w5d

I'll be 6+4 on Thursday, so more or less the same as you. I had a wobble today when I woke up and thought my boobs weren't sore anymore and I wasn't as nauseous as usual in the morning. It wasn't until I had to have a nap at 12 that I realised I wouldn't have usually done that, so maybe it is all ok and I do still have symptoms!

How are you feeling about tomorrow? I guess a bit better than if you hadn't had that private scan? How exciting / nerve-wracking!

Yea we’re not far away in days at all!
It’s mad how we analyse every symptom! One day you feel something then the next day it’s not there or different then we panic . The sleep things been a big thing for me snoozing lunchtime during work days then yesterday I was out from 11am-2.15!

Have you been feeling nauseous then?
My boobs are on and off sore, feeling it more when the bra comes off later on
When do you tend to feel more symptoms?
I’m more in the evenings.

Are you feeling ok now with everything?has the wobble passed? Try not to worry you are almost at scan day and you will have your re assurance and you will know what’s going on in there and if there’s 1 or 2.

Im feeling ok about tomorrow. I am a bit nervous as I’m feeling like today the symptoms are on off but I’m thinking I may just be dealing with things better than my first pregnancy. I feel like I should feel worse!
Also excited to see the little one again and see how much has changed in the last week. Also to see if the other sac has developed or started to disappear.

Yes I have been feeling nauseous - mainly it is morning and by evening I seem to feel pretty normal unless I've not eaten. I have been napping when I can (when I said I don't usually I meant before being pregnant I wouldn't). Yesterday I started the day saying I was definitely going to have one so that I could get through the rest of the day ok as I had said we would host a toddler halloween party, but in the end (cos I left everything to last minute!) I spent the day rushing around the shops, baking and then had the party and then went out in torrential rain to trick or treat! So not very relaxing at all! Yeah I think I'm ok now, but until the scan I won't know anything. Of course it doesn't all end then...with my last pregnancy I think it was after 12 weeks when I felt ok about everything.

I’ve had the odd bit of queasiness first thing but not daily I wasn’t sickly with my daughter either so I’m hoping I don’t suffer with it.
At least your not suffering too bad with than and that it doesn’t last all day .
That sounds like a busy day yesterday’s and the weather was awful so well done you for having the party and getting out!
Re the scans it’s the not knowing that is the awful thing , I felt a lot better after the one last week so I’m sure you will too.
Your right about the 12 Weeks it’s just that milestone that’s a bit further along where you feel more comfortable.
There is so much waiting and worrying along the way. I just want to relax and enjoy it but too cautious at the minute !

Just thought I would share an update from today
My scan showed 1 sac with 1 baby with a strong heartbeat
No sign of the other one so it may have just been absorbed by my body
I’m measuring at 6 weeks 6 days so 1 day ahead
I have an EDD of 23/06/22 and have now been discharged from care.
It’s over to us! Can’t believe it.
Need to book a midwife appointment now and take it from there!

Can you remind me is it an internal scan, and if that means bladder full or empty (I can never remember!)?

It’s still not feeling real at the minute even though I’ve seen that it is!
It was a great feeling getting discharged, we are so thankful as without them it wouldn’t have been possible.
The scan is internal and its an empty bladder, thankfully as it’s hard to keep it full these days with all the toilet trips!

If we don’t speak before good luck for Thursday let me know how it goes .

Thanks so much. So we went ..one little bean! Heartbeat is strong but she couldn't date it cos it's hiding in the corner and can't be measured! However she said she thinks she can see little arm/leg buds already.

So that's a relief. Also that there's only one haha.

It was good ...but now within a few days I'm already stressing because I used to be able to feel mild stretching in my uterus and for the last 2 days I've felt nothing at all. Now I'm really stressed out

How are you today? Are you feeling less anxious?
I was a bit the same it was on and off but when I had the other scan all was ok. It’s hard at the minute we analyse everything and worry! Are you booking a private scan before the 12 week scan?
I’ve got my follow up scan at the private place this weds so hopefully all will be ok then will have to wait to the official 12 week hospital scan!

Welcome Nannybea! Congrats on your BFP and now it’s back to another waiting game! It is hard to wait! I went for a private scan at 5.5 weeks as I couldnt beat it then had the care scan ! I’m too impatient.
How have you been feeling in yourself up to now?

I feel a bit better today as I feel sick as a dog! So I feel better about the pregnancy but worse overall!

I probably won't be able to wait until 12 weeks so most likely I will book one private one. I'll try to keep it to one so need to hold off a bit first.

NannyBea welcome. So how far along will you be when you get your scan? I was 6+4. I'm sure it used to be a bit later they used to do it. But most likely you can see the heartbeat then anyway

It’s so strange we feel better about things when we feel worse with our symptoms! It feels more real doesn’t it!
I’ve been getting the nausea since the end of last week and totally exhausted I slept most of yesterday so I do feel very pregnant now.
I’m due to stop my progesterone on Thursday , nervous about it but will be happy to not have to do that 3 times a day!

I'll be 7+2 when I have my scan!! Feeling fine....not too many symptoms, which is a blessing but also a bit worrying! Sore boobs and tummy twinges, that's it mostly. Oh, plus ridiculously excessive peeing and awful constipation! I just want to poooop!!
We only had 1 egg make it to blastocyst stage, but it was a good grade apparently, and a day 5 transfer. The pregnancy tests are coming up strong too. The clear blue digital went from 2-3 weeks to 3+ weeks when I last did one about a week ago. I have 1 more test left that I'll take in a few days and hope it's still showing 3+. I was being overly cautious and pessimistic before, and now I'm worried that I'm getting ahead of myself and being over confident! It's so hard!!

I'm glad you two have both had good results from your scans. I'm on a facebook support group and sadly the two other ladies who went through their treatments at the same time as me (literally days apart) don't seem to have been successful. :

7+2 is a good time for a scan you will be able to see a bit more too
Your symptoms sound typical for this stage and similar to mine too!
Lucky you had one that made it to blastocyst, all you need is for one to stick for it to be a success !
I didn’t have any that made it to blast so I ended up having 2 5day morulas (a day stage before a blast)transferred so I wasnt sure how that was going to go!
Its really hard seeing other people’s journeys when it hasn’t worked it’s heartbreaking , you don’t always want to share your good news in fear of upsetting others

Anyone know if care shut clinics or stop cycles for Xmas? I was told I could have a transfer if it’s by the end of November and trying to find out the actual date now. Rang them but no answer as yet. Panicking a bit as my period was due on the 6th and now delayed after egg collection last cycle. Was due to have a FET this mth :/ hope it happens x
