Re: September 2021 scans

Hey everyone,

I’m delighted to see everyone is doing so well and it looks like the girls are representing here!!

I’m now 20+3 and starting to to learn to chill. I have started getting things in the house now and got babes furniture in the Silver Cross sale so was a bargain!

I’m so happy for you all and for Lou with your much longer for BFP.

Is anyone feeling wriggles yet? Givingitatry?

Love and hugs

Thank you so so much! How are you doing? I hope you’re feeling much better as I know you said you’ve had a bit of a rough time of it! Hope they little girl or yours is doing amazing xx
I’m much better in general now, no vomiting since 18 weeks and now 21+1. Still various other ailments but not being sick has been the best thing ever! Quite the Christmas present in fact 😂 She’s still going strong and measuring on track and have a midwife appointment on 4th for more checks and my whooping cough jab. Although I don’t think you ever relax, I’m the most relaxed I’ve been since ivf started and just hope things continue as planned 🙂 I’ll be hoping the same for you too x
That’s so good that your vomiting has stopped. I haven’t actually had any symptoms but I know I’m still early. Glad she’s measuring on track and all have managed to relax, hoping I can do the same too. I’m not going to focus on every little thing if I can help it and just take it day by day really if I can! No doubt I’ll be in touch if I have any questions if you don’t mind! Have a wonderful new year and continue to look after yourself and baby 🥰 x
Taking things day by day is all you can do and knowing when your week change is was always something I looked to as well as helped pass the time. I have the what to expect app to read up on things too. Mine is a Wednesday so hump day 😂. Plus early on I had an extra scan at 10 weeks and 16 weeks for peace of mind as found the long waits to start so nerve-wracking. I’m now done with extra scans (have one at 32 weeks to check my placenta position so that’ll see me through) but my midwife has been understanding and has snuck in an extra Doppler for me so I typically hear baby every 3-4 weeks vs 4 weeks. The difference is huge even though only really an extra appointment snuck in there.

You had such a tough beginning to ivf but things are on track and although it’s hard not to think the worst will happen, at some stage we have to believe for our own sanity. I’m still trying to get to that stage (!) but everyone’s ivf experiences are different. As best you can though, don’t let this experience take the joy away from where you are.you deserve to feel joy and happiness and if I can help with any questions you know where I am 🙂 x

Ps I think you had another scan around now so good luck / hope it went perfectly!

So nice to hear from you and to know all is going well! I’m 22 weeks tomorrow - crazy how the time is passing by. I remember when we just started chatting on this group (!). Still petrified of course but saw the midwife today and heartbeat is still perfect and my fundal is measuring right on track. Been prescribed something for my acid reflux and had an early blood test done for anaemia just to check my breathlessness isn’t related to that. But without vomiting I am in much better shape (!) and gaining weight finally too. Belly popped out over Christmas, which was reassuring as was wondering if she was still in there!

Good on you for taking the plunge. We may buy some bits this weekend (have 2 personal shopping appointments at different places as saw a Mamas & Papas furniture set and a Silver Cross one in fact! so going to see them and potentially buy before their sales end in 2-3 weeks but I’m still struggling to buy big stuff. We have to do the nursery in Feb though due to having friends come and help during the half term so need everything ready for their visit or hubby will be doing it himself, which doesn’t feel sensible (!). I did find my nursing chair though and as it comes with feet and the rocker I can always keep as a chair anyway #backupplan. Found the wallpaper for the feature wall I think and a swatch is arriving in 2 weeks to check colours and finish before we go ahead. I can then pick the paint colour and get that ready too. I feel organised, just wish I had a crystal ball to know she will be with us as planned and one healthy little bubba as that’s the difficult bit. Over halfway but still so dubious that this will happen after so many setbacks, despite having good news at every appointment. Anyway I’ll get there I’m sure - I’m not as anxious as the start but it is always in the back of my mind. Oh I did buy a cotton blanket and muslin I had seen months back that I loved so that was a HUGE step for me. It arrived a few days ago and made me so happy. Look at me rambling on (!).

Amazingly, despite my anterior placenta, I have started getting movements 🥳 could have been up to 25 weeks apparently so really pleased she’s made an appearance. Only in the morning and evening really - occasional lunchtime ish but only been going on since Christmas Day (what a pressie!). Stronger now than it was on 25th but no kicks and unlikely to be for weeks yet. Feels so weird though, like little flips. What about you? x

Hello 🙋‍♀️ We had another amazing scan yesterday 🥰 bubba has doubled in size the last 5 days (no wonder I had some intense cramping) and their heartbeat is still beautiful 😍 we are overjoyed. After every scan I feel a little better. Next scan is at the 9 week mark so I’ve only got to wait another 11 days. I’ve also had confirmation of my midwife appointments so that’s super exciting too. First one is the 13th (phone call) and second is the 18th for bloods, weight etc.

The double lubion is making my belly so sore and bloated but it’s totally worth it. So glad you’re feeling better now and getting there with relaxing into this pregnancy. We used to have the app but I haven’t felt ready to open it again since the last time. But I’m hoping I will soon. Our week date change is on a Saturday and I still look it up to read all the changes. Can’t believe this is finally happening for us. Look after yourself lovely and that precious cargo and I hope we chat again soon Xx

Also thanks Bex! We are over the moon and I’m so pleased to hear all is going well for you and your lovely little girl! 😍 xx

Oh wow you are really organised there!

Sounds like Christmas was a great time when she popped out and then things felt real hey!

Yes i must say welcome to the anterior club! My placenta is anterior but on 20 week scan the sonographer was happy to suggest it could well be up by the fundus now. Because my uterus was tilted right back at the start they said not to worry until later on and even then it’s not a worry it’s just where the placenta has chosen to grow.

I am convinced that it’s all based on where they place the egg with frozen transfers so wherever it lands - that’s where it goes haha whereas I suppose when it’s not IVF it probably attaches as high is as it can when it tips out the Fallopian tube.

I am still feeling tired and that never changes.

In terms of movement - I have been feeling like swishing motions like there isn’t a tide in my tummy and like weird jolts lower down in my groin. Only over the last week or so I would say and it just feels heavy or tight in the night. It’s so hard to explain!

With regards to silver cross - have a look on their website as they have a massive sale on :)

I’m so glad it’s going well for you xxx

PS - have you stopped progesterone now?

What amazing news!! The cramping will definitely be stretching with this big growth phase. I was always told that cramping without bleeding or bleeding without cramping is usually ok but both together is the one to worry about. So if those cramps keep on coming without anything else try to remind yourself that it is all fine 99% of the time and part of your body accommodating your little bean 🥳

Sounds like you’re really organised and have everything set up 🙂 oh the lubion is a little bit fun isn’t it (!) and assume you’re on it until 12 weeks as was a FET (vs think 9/10 for fresh…)? The time does fly by and suddenly you’re off the meds and start to feel a bit more normal! Lubion I think made a difference for me as was the change between the chemical and this pregnancy (other than embryos of course). I personally found thigh best for lubion but partly as I had the inhixa in the tummy so was bruised everywhere 🙄 not sure where you’re injecting but if the tummy, maybe try thigh? Or vice versa, just in case it is easier on the body?

Everything seems to be going perfectly so take each day and before you know it, you’ll be at your 12 week scan seeing your little one looking all baby-like 🥳 I loved seeing our one look like a typical ultrasound as made it all feel more real for me 🙂 I hope you continue to dodge any horrid pregnancy symptoms and can enjoy things in due course! Keep going and staying positive x

I’m definitely someone who tries to be organised 😉 then tick things off gradually to keep stress levels down!

I was told the same about the anterior placenta 🙂 nothing to worry about but higher chance of not feeling movement early and a back to back delivery, which is more painful! Doh! But as mine is low for now, if it doesn’t move, I’ll be having a c-section anyway so not thinking about the potential pain bit of back to back! Also no real birth plan being done until 32 weeks when we know what’s going on in there but I think it’ll move and we can decide what we would like. Then baby will no doubt scupper it all and end up with something far from the plan 😂

I completely know what you mean and that’s how I’ve found movement too! Plus the very firm feeling you mention too… so weird isn’t it but reassuring too. I feel tiredness will be with us for the next 5 years 😂

Yes I spotted the silver cross sale so popping to a shop to see it all in person before deciding. I feel pretty confident we are going to choose a set this weekend though. Scary really 👀

Yes stopped progesterone at 12 weeks as planned so been off it for 10. I had a bit of spotting after coming off it and was so scary but all was fine. Needed nerves of steel to come off the meds (!) was one of the worst stages for me… are you of them all? x

Ohh I’m so excited at the thought of seeing baby again especially like you said at 12 weeks when they are looking more human 😍

Yes up until 12 weeks with the meds and like you I am terrified of coming off of them! Especially if you had spotting that must have been so scary! Is it normal to spot when you come off of them? I used to take fymedral in my thigh during stims and my legs are more sensitive for some reason but thank you.

Lubion has also made the difference for us too I believe as I have had it both times with the private clinic and gotten pregnant but the NHS didn’t offer it and we never implanted on either of those cycles. How are you feeling overall? I mean soon you can start buying things and preparing their room and everything so it must be majorly exciting! 🥰 Xx

Lucky, lubion is an injectable progesterone but I don’t know if or why it was offered to you at this stage. Glad baby is all OK. That’s great news!

Soooo I went under pre term labour clinic at 16 weeks because I had a huge section of cervix removed 10 years ago.

I had some very light spotting on New Years Eve that I found on my sheet and nothing since so going to mention it in pre term labour clinic and ask if I can stay on progesterone to 24 weeks. I stopped oestrogen at 12 weeks though which I was glad of!

So yeah, little but scared of stopping but we will see
What they tell me tomorrow and good old dildo cam will be back to have a look at how my cervix is getting on xx

🥰 Xx
It’ll be a lovely experience seeing bubba again 🥳 I’ve heard from others they also had light spotting. Not a bleed in any way, just a bit when you wipe. Freaked me out as happened over about 3-4 days then stopped. As always you can ask for support from the docs - I rang my midwife as was signed off by Care and she said she wasn’t concerned but to ring if the blood flow increased and was ‘filling a pad’. I didn’t have anywhere near that level 👍🏻

It’s strange you say the same about lubion, I think it better prepped my lining for the embryo and kept my levels much higher! Was about 17 on just pessaries and about 48 with the lubion. They want 35+ but ideally 50 so you can see why I had lubion added for my protocol 😂 oh definitely sounds like tummy is better for you whereas my thighs must be packed with lovely fat or devoid of nerves as found it far less painful!

I’m feeling ok but I’ve had a rough pregnancy to be honest. Not for baby as she’s been brilliant but the docs have been giving me lectures about needing more rest, fluid etc as my body is really struggling with it all. They said some people’s bodies just find it harder ie naturally just not built for pregnancy and I’m in that camp. Just means I need far more rest and get offered a bit more monitoring and meds to help me out. Pregnancy wasn’t what I expected but am so grateful to be where we are 🙂 we will do the nursery end Feb so that’s a big milestone for buying bits. So scary though… I’ve planned it all and have a feature wall wallpaper sample arriving in a few weeks and looking at furniture in person this weekend in the hope of getting the end of the sales 🤞🏻 We can always return it if things go wrong x

Needed nerves of steel to come off the meds (!) was one of the worst stages for me… are you of them all? x

Oh my! You have had a lot to cope with. That’s good they’re monitoring you though and I’m sure they’ll only take the progesterone away when you’re ready. It’s hard as it comes down to the placenta and it should be more than ready to sustain the progesterone. But they’ll know much more and if it’s for peace of mind and does no harm I don’t see why they wouldn’t 🙂 good luck with dildo cam!! x

Good to know about the spotting so I don’t freak out too if it happens to me (I probably still will though 🤣) I’m on two lubion a day and 3 cyclogest because my levels just weren’t increasing so I think it’s definitely helped maintain the pregnancy this time which we are so grateful for!

You really have been through the wars with this pregnancy but the fact that you and that gorgeous baby of yours are just getting on with it is amazing! You’re doing so well honestly.

I think it’s really good you’re planning the room etc because you need to enjoy this time after waiting so long for this journey. I know it’s easier said than done and I’m a massive hypocrite as I can’t relax for more than 10 minutes after a scan when I’ve seen everything is ok on a screen! BUT you are so nearly there now so I hope you get stupidly excited decorating and spend hundreds of pounds on all things baby soon 🥰😍 Xx

Looks like we have a similar progesterone dosage in that case and lubion is brilliant at boosting the levels! 2xlubion but I had 6xutrogestan (2 vaginal pessaries 3x a day), which might be like your cyclogest I assume if you have it 3x a day? Might just be bigger pessaries 😳 So meant lots of progesterone for us 😂 but working perfectly! So probably not a surprise my body needed to adapt when it stopped. But know if spotting starts 2-3 days after you stop it may just be your body acclimatising so just let the midwife know but should all be fine 😀

I’m not sure I can claim to be doing well but I’ll take it! My mother-in-law has been lovely and peps me up sometimes. She used to be a midwife and knows how tough this journey has been for us so reminds me how far we have come and not to judge my pregnancy vs others or moan that my body is struggling when others bloom. I always give myself a hard time even though I know right now my body is being amazing sustaining this little one. I just want to be one of those mums-to-be that breeze through but mostly I have to rest in bed lots and work is so difficult for me. I’m back tomorrow after a few weeks off and dreading it as still feel so tired despite having had 2 weeks off 👀 no idea how I’ll survive the next 4 months pre-maternity leave but I managed work while vomiting multiple times a day so surely I’ll find a way 😂

I am excited to buy some things, just wish the niggle of something going wrong wasn’t there. But whatever happens I really have tried my best and can’t change the outcome so just have to wait and hope this all turns out well! x ps I’m the same with scans and Dopplers - moments afterwards I’m convinced something has gone wrong 🙄 that’s the curse of ivf, particularly if you’ve had MMC, chemicals, BFNs as you have felt the sadness. But so many people go from that to have a healthy baby and we must remember that!

Yes I am firmly on the progesterone train! 🤣 I’m grateful for the advice regarding spotting because I would have really panicked.

I’m glad your MIL is so supportive. I think with most things in life it’s difficult for us to see our own accomplishments and we need that recognition from others so that we can see how far we have come. My mum often refers to me as brave. I never feel it but if I knew someone else who had been through what we had been through, I would call them brave too! So just because we don’t feel it, doesn’t mean we aren’t! And you have been through a tremendous amount and are doing super 🥰

I went back to work yesterday and I just feel like the meds are a part time job on top of my full time job! Christmas was so much easier when I could just lounge with my pessary in for a couple of hours. Now the timer is on and I’m scheduling meetings around the meds! I hope work isn’t too painful for you and my hubby said to me this pregnancy is more important than work so when you feel it’s getting a bit much, take a breath and do what you can.

Chances of things going wrong massively decrease the further into pregnancy so I know it’s hard but I think you will have your baby girl in your arms before you know it! 💜🌈

Hey Givingitatry,

No I’m 21 weeks now and still on it. I’m under pre term labour clinic and have had to insist to remain on it to be honest. Moreso now as my cervix is shortened to 20mm. I have had parts removed due to a cervical cancer scare when I was 24 so I needed treatment to avoid progression to cancer and I was on the edge so I’m so lucky in many ways but then here I am 10 years later with my IVF story so it’s a long one.

I have had an Arabin pessary put in to support the cervix and stop it progressing or shortening any further but I’m very scared. I have a review on Thursday where I’m hoping the cervix has stabilised. There is an option to have a cervical stitch put in but I don’t want that unless it’s last resort as you need a spinal with it and there is a risk of membrane rupture so I’m avoiding it at all costs and hoping the progesterone and pessary work well together xx

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry you’ve had that to deal with that. A scare is horrendous let alone operations and now the concerns about pregnancy too. I’d definitely insist on staying with the clinic to make sure you get the best care so good on you for making sure you get what you need.

A stitch does sound a bit risky for now but once you know more you can decide if that’s still the case or you’d rather have the stitch as the benefit outweighs the risks. I’ll be hoping you don’t need it. I assume bed rest doesn’t really help so you’re not being asked to twiddle your thumbs for now? Just wonder if it helps from a gravity perspective?! Seems silly to ask.

Sending lots of good vibes to you and hoping you get good news on Thursday! x

Re: September 2021 scans

Hey Givingitatry,

Sorry for late reply. Yes things are ok! I was given progesterone again for 4 weeks no issues. Saw the consultant who was super quick and even gave me a sneak 4d pic of baby which was amazing! Wish I could upload them on to here to share.

My cervix has actually lengthened which is brilliant so heading in the right direction and pessary is still in. I have chosen not to have the stitch because of the risk of membrane rupture. I’m 23 weeks on Saturday and the limit is 24 so I just don’t want the risk when my hospital is a leading centre for women’s health and obstetrics and they have had really good outcome with the pessary. Just gotta stay positive and keep the faith!

How are you getting on. I am dealing with the stretching at the moment mostly at night. Especially when I wake up and bump looks different haha. I always know when there is a growth spurt because I get really bad headaches. All hormones I guess.

I have my nursery furniture coming today and I’ve got nursery carpet being put in soon as well which is exciting. Nesting has begun. I have also bought some little outfits for Molly (that’s bumps name) and I’m keeping focussed and visualising her safe arrival.

How are you doing? Xx

Never apologise, I imagine you're very busy and I'm not often on the boards these days anyway ;) pop back from time to time though just in case there is an update from someone!

That's so good about the 4D pic and about your cervix too! So reassuring to know you're in safe hands and things are progressing as they should. Having a leading women's and health part to the hospital is amazing :) Definitely keep the faith and remember you are over half way and so close to 'viability outside the womb', which I think is a huge milestone! At 24 weeks it's possible for a little one to survive so every week that you keep going, the stronger that little one gets.

I want to say i'm doing well but my body continues to fail me... suspected DVT last week so was in hospital and back on blood thinners. Luckily they believe all is ok but also highlighted an issue with my pulse - it's too high based on where I am in pregnancy so they're doing a 24hr ecg to see the fluctuations and decide what to do. My body really is not coping with the little one but she is doing fabulously :) So strong, really wriggly now and we saw her on Sunday at a private scan as I was in bits after the concerns I had about suspected DVT etc. She obviously decided not to wriggle for a day which led to that scan but now she's bouncing 'off the walls'! Nutter. I'm not actually finding too many stretching pains luckily, my issues have remained acid reflux (on meds now for that and help a lot but sometimes still get some waves), tiredness, eczema flare ups, sore boobs all the time and breathlessness (with this pulse issue...). She's definitely grown again as my tummy keeps poking out, particularly at night when I'm full of food too!

We are 24 weeks today and have our nursery furniture coming on 3rd :) The big decoration weekend is 19/20th Feb as we have friends coming and we have the final big 'buy lots' session on 26th Feb in the hope of having all the big stuff by end March. It feels so incredibly strange to think this is really happening right now and I just hope the next 16 weeks aren't too stressful! Maternity leave is approved so only another 2.5 months left, which is a lovely feeling. So much on and I think I'll need a rest in the run up.

Only thing that's been on my mind is I'm considering an elective c-section. I initially had it on my radar as didn't think I'd cope with the uncertainty of when she arrives and also I am against inductions of any kind. Won't go into details but is a personal preference of mine. I then managed to 'get over myself' and was on the natural birth route with water bath if possible. But with the health issues I've been having throughout, I'm actually really worried my body won't cope with labour. It's a really sad thought that I'm not up to it but I am considering asking for one at 38.5-39 weeks as also shortens my pregnancy slightly. It's been getting me down to be honest and I'm partly hoping my low lying placenta stays low so I have no choice anyway (!) but won't know about that possibility for another 8 weeks when I have my 32 week check. Do you know your birth plan? I wasn't sure if your cervix meant you had to have a c-section for example? Any advice from anyone would be so helpful as it's really bothering me. I have my midwife appt on 25th so going to mention it there as know there are people who you can talk through things with. But I would like to know if I am doing it as may influence the hospital I choose as well i.e. a bit further afield as may have lower infection rates etc. Need to do the research but has an impact on where so keen to start deciding really.

So that's my update really! Baby girl is wonderful, am getting used to all the wriggles but the concern over my ability to cope for the rest of the pregnancy plus birth is getting me down right now. But I guess I can't be surprised that my body doesn't love it all, considering I am/was infertile after all!! It's like my body tried to warn me ;) x

Hi Givingitatry,

Just read your update and it’s so wonderful to hear baby girl is doing so well and wriggling around! That must be incredible to feel! Also once the nursery is done and you have got your big ticket items purchased I’m sure it’ll feel even more real!

We are 9+5 today and we say baby at 9 weeks and it was unbelievable. We saw a little nose and legs and the sobographer said little hands 🥰 we were just in complete awe of how incredible bubba is doing and grown! Most importantly a strong heartbeat still! 🌈💜

Keeping everything crossed everything continues to progress well.

So sorry to hear you have had more health concerns, it must be so much scarier with your precious cargo onboard. I really hope you get some good advice and support from your midwife regarding your birthing plan. I am still so early on but my instinct at this point is a water birth too. I, like you am against inductions. My friend was induced and spent a week in hospital being poked and prodded and medicated to get an infection and end up with an emergency c section. I want to be as well rested and relaxed as possible for birth and a week in hospital wouldn’t allow that.

Other than the worry over the birth, how are you feeling? Xx

Hi Givingitatry,

I just wanted to Bob on here to say I had tachycardia all through my first pregnancy and it is very common (if that is what you have) due to the 50% more blood going around your body. I had 4 ECGs and an echocardiogram in that pregnancy and all was well so I hope that can be reassuring. It’s scary when people mention your heart but in the end I got used to the times of palpitations and flutters although always slightly unnerved.

I also had a c section after failed inductions and no other way for the baby to come out - he was too comfy 🤣🤦‍♀️ I found having a c section absolutely fine and the recovery not as horrendous as I thought it would be in fact it really wasn’t that bad to the point that I will elect for a c section for this baba. Feel free to ask any questions you’d like. I was advised not to go over my due date by too much (hence the inductions) as being ivf and 41 at the time they thought it was too high risk to wait and wait.

I hope this brings som e reassurance .

Hey! So good to hear you’re doing well and your little one is being absolutely perfect! It’s amazing to see them start to look more babylike isn’t it. I swore ours looked like Mr Hanky the Christmas Poo from South Park at our viability scan with Care and then suddenly this odd stick looking thing turned into a baby shape?! I’m just so pleased things are going smoothly this time after your last experience. I know the anxiety can stick around for a while (I’m only just starting to relax believe it or not and with my body being weird it keeps making it harder to believe this will work out!) but you sound so positive and I hope you are able to keep that throughout as ivf robs us of so much of the normal joy…

Yes nursery is a huge milestone for us as was feeling movement! Some days she’s more active than others but apparently that’s very normal for the next month at least so nothing to worry about. Next midwife appointment is Tuesday for more blood tests, urine test, growth check and doppler so should be relatively straightforward hopefully. Nursery wise we have bought all the furniture now and it arrives week after next, the rocking chair is already here and our feature wall wallpaper arrived safely this week. Picking paint for the other walls this weekend and then it’s 4 weeks until the nursery weekend where we have friends coming to do it all so I don’t have to lift a finger 😊 bit embarrassing to feel I’m so useless but with my heartrate as it is I can’t be doing much. I’ll fetch some tea and bake a cake perhaps!

The health stuff is a bit unnerving to be honest but I’m really not that bad. I think my body is just hypersensitive as I suffer from that usually due to my immune issues. So could have been anything from having the whooping cough jab to coming into contact with an allergen and it just made my body go nuts. The tachycardia I have had since the start though and I thought initially it was anxiety but since having more appointments etc it’s much more likely my body is just struggling to keep up with what baby needs. She’s getting everything though so I can’t really complain.

Inductions just seem so barbaric and I’ve had friends warn me about them as they’re certain it’s why they had complications ie baby and body wasn’t ready and you can’t really trick it properly to have a smooth labour. Been everything from 30+ hour labours ending in emergency c-sections, transfusions, 3rd degree tears and episiotomies, hernias, prolapses etc. I’m sure many have them and it’s fine and perhaps it’s because I’m 36 so my friends are ‘older’ but it’s been so sad to hear their experiences. So much so many went elective c-section / planning on it for the second… A water birth sounds so so much better doesn’t it! Calmer, not in a bed all the time etc. But I’ve talked more to people I know (some medical and others not) and they also feel knowing my health and medical history that a c section is likely wise 1) to get baby out ASAP once cooked 2) to avoid a potential emergency c section after hours of labour as emotionally and physically I’d be spent 3) to help my body cope as if I start having issues I’ll panic about whether baby is ok etc. So I’ve basically made up my mind for a c section but just have to approach it with my midwife to understand how I make it happen.

Outside of all that stuff, I’m not too bad really. I was transfixed about getting to 24 weeks before I’d relax ie get to ‘viability outside the womb’ ie doctors are likely to intervene to try to help baby from this stage onwards if I went into labour. So mentally that tells me she’s done enough growing to be more ‘stable’ and therefore I need to believe she’ll keep doing what she has been and grow into a healthy baby. It’s like a mental milestone I’ve had and she’s made it there so now it’s on me to believe if she’s come this far she’ll keep going as if a doctor saw her anytime from now they’d believe in her too. Bit weird to say and feel it makes me a nutter (!) but that’s where I am at really. But I pray she stays in until at least 38 weeks so her lungs are in a good place 🙏🏻 Nothing much else going on for me, just keeping my appointments and trying to take care of myself as best I can! Very glad for a weekend of relaxation ahead x

Thanks so much Flash! It’s nice to hear someone else having the same symptoms and everything being ok but sorry you had all those tests done during your pregnancy! I decided if mine was terrible I’d be on monitoring 24/7 but I’m home so think it’s more I’m outside of normal but not critical if that makes sense. If I genuinely do nothing ie sit in silence and don’t move for an hour, my heartrate is constant around 89/90 which is ‘borderline fine’ for pregnancy but the moment I get up to walk 10m, have a conversation, do anything light like getting the post, get my dog breakfast etc it goes up to nearer 118-128. Plus I get palpitations randomly in the day, which I really don’t like as I had a period of panic attacks a decade ago and it reminds me of that time. But once they fit me for this 24hr ecg that’ll give them a much better picture of the fluctuations and if we need to recommend anything for me whether rest, meds etc. Hopefully they can do it soon as the report takes 2 weeks to analyse apparently due to it being 24 hours of data.

I feel much much better hearing your story including c-section. Looks like you definitely made too comfy a home for him! I’m hoping for one around 39 weeks really as with pregnancy having been tough, getting her out safely is important and I’ve a horrid feeling my placenta will struggle near the end and start degrading too. Partly as I’m a bit older at 36 going on 37 but also as I know the grading of our embryo and the placenta part was a 3 (well I’m pretty certain as we had a 2:3 hatching and a 2:2 early and dates wise we had implantation straight away so I’d bet money it was our 2:3 as was further along). Plus I’ve been told my sickness is likely to return as I reach full term so any length of time I can cut off safely from the pregnancy will just help me move past this and get to birth recovery and then maybe by Christmas I’ll have a slightly more normal body?! Quite the wish as would only be 6/7 months post but I’m hoping I might feel slightly human by then. We will see I guess.

So no questions really about the c section but any tips and tricks are much appreciated!

How far along are you now? You coping ok with everything and dare I ask, are you excited yet?! Or still in the anxiety stage of things? x

Hi!
It sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what is the best fit for you regarding your birth plan. Especially if it will ease your anxiety around your health issues. The body is incredible really when you consider you have not been very well but baby girl has everything she needs which must be such a relief.

You made me laugh with your hanky comment! Our early viability was a literal blob with a heartbeat but it was still the cutest blob I’d ever seen haha

Like you, I’m still not convinced everything will work out but considering our journeys I really hope some higher power is in our favour and it’s our time to become the mothers we’ve always dreamed of being. My anxiety is quite bad lately and ever since the midwife reminded me that the immune system decreases during pregnancy I’m terrified of catching anything- especially Covid! It must be even harder for you with your immune issues too? They want me to get the flu and Covid booster but I want to wait until after our 12 weeks. When did you get yours?

Good luck with the nursery and don’t feel bad about not doing the physical stuff to help- tea and cake is a vital contribution! Plus your body is doing a lot of internal heavy lifting, growing a person. I completely understand the need to reach each milestone. For me it’s the 12 weeks, our scan is the 8th Feb in the afternoon. I can’t even think past that yet because I’m never convinced everything is ok until I’ve been scanned. Like you said, robbing ourselves of the joy of pregnancy.

I really hope you stay as well as you can and thinks continue as amazingly well with baby girl as they have been. As always, lovely chatting xx
