So nervous about the scan

I have my scan booked for 13th August and the closer im getting the more nervous I am. So scared there will be nothing there.

I'm in the same place. I have my scan on 21st. All I have is sore boobs. No other symptoms so im worried.

Thus whole process is a big nerve tester!! Wd just can't settle can we?

I'm constantly on edge and still on knicker watch all the time. My boobs aren't to sore, just have sensitive nipples and they are permanently like bullets haha. I've have waves of sickness and heartburn but thats about it really. I had two embryo's put back as this is our last chance.

Bullet nips. They are a pain. Im wearing a normal bra and a sports bra over it to cover them!! Im so bloated too. Look about 16 weeks!! Think its the pesseries. Which Care are you at?

Im.really hoping the bloat goes down after I stop the pesseries in a couple of weeks after the scan. I've got 2 weeks being on tender hooks. My boobs are so big too so im hoping that everything is going as it should in there. I had slight spotting and a bit of red blood in my 2 week wait so was so happy when we got the positive tests. Im definitely not going to become a series tester though as it would drive me insane and I'd be reading too much into everything! I've done 4 over the 2 days of test day so keeping it at that. Very nervous about the scan. We have had 3 miscarriages in the past. This is my last chances as im 41. I don't feel it though as we have a very energetic 6 year old jeeping us on our toes.

I do also wonder abiut twins with being so bloated, but due to my age they only out one embryo back in, even though we had 4 at blastocyst stage.

You don't have long to go now until your scan. Are you keeping buay until that time comes? With your symtons it all sounds very positive:) xx

Hi Shelley, im at the Tamworth Care, how about you? Its so scary when you get any spotting. Im also trying not to test as it can drive you crazy. This is my 3rd round but first with Care. My first round I had a CP at 5 weeks and 2nd round was a BFN. This is our last round as we are self funding. My partner has 20yr old triplets, all girls. We couldn't afford another round and dont think I could put myself through it again.

I completely understand Lisa. Ifs emotionally and physically draining. Im sorry about your CP and BFN. Its positive that you've got a BPN and got to passed 6 weeks then . Im so hopeful for.you for 13th. Its extremely nerve wracking the whole.process is. Ive definitely gained weight from the medication so cant fit jnto any of my clothes. I hope.its for a good reason and we don't get bad news. Weve had 3 miscarriages so really desperate for this to work as if I had another one im not sure im.strong enough to start all over again xx

Did you have any symptoms with yours? We've had 3 miscarriages but tbh I didn't have any symptoms then but boobs could be from pesseries.

Hi shelley, I've had a few symptoms on and off. Waves of nausea, and the odd bit of heart burn. Not really had sore boobs just sentive nipples sometimes. Im so scared for the scan tomorrow. Im not looking forward to it in the slightest.

I'm the same, nervous!! Its jext Friday. Ots a long wait as I'd be over 7 weeks then going from last period. Is that what we go off?

Hi shelley, well that was scary but amazing at the same time. We definitely have 1 strong heart beat but want to scan me again next week. They are not sure if its split and there is a second baby hiding or not developed.

I've had cramps intermittently over the last couple of days . Hoping its wins or stretching. No bleeding so im just trying to stay positive.

They went from my egg collection day so I'm 7+4. All sounds very good to me. I've been having cramping on and off and a pinching feeling. Tiredness has set in too. Had an hours sleep on the sofa this afternoon haha. Twins would be lovely be so happy to have 1 heart beat.

So glad to hear positive news on this forum. I have my viability scan on the 25th of August and I have been trying to feel relaxed about it. What worries me the most is how I’m going to cope if things don’t work out. I’m trying to stay super positive but I am scared at the same time. Happy I got a positive pregnancy result for the first time in my life but stopping myself of feeling too excited, just in case. I’m exhausted. Just want to enjoy it now and feel happy. Anyone else with mixed feelings?

Hi Marce. I feel exactly the same way. We had BFP 12th August and our scan is booked for 2nd Sept. I am overanalysing every symptom and feel like I’m struggling to feel happy and excited. I have to give myself a reality check multiple times a day, to remind myself that I am pregnant and should be feeling happy and not apprehensive. So difficult though. My partner is concerned that I’m not experiencing that exciting early pregnancy stage. I am wishing for nausea for a sign that it is progressing. It’s absolutely exhausting, I completely agree

Hi Marce and Louise, I have been exactly the same as you both. I found the wait for the scan worse than the 2ww. The day of the scan I've never felt so scared, honestly thought they would say there is no heart beat. When they told me there was a heart beat I just burst out crying. The nurses who scanned me were so lovely and gave me lots of reassurance. I've got to go back for another scan on Thursday as they were not sure if they was a 2nd baby hiding or if the baby has not developed. Have have everything crossed for you ladies. How you been feeling? Also congratulations on your BFP Xx

Hi All - I have my scan on 1 September. I’m nervous too as it’s the first time I’ve ever had a BFP. The days are going by so slow especially since I’m having the worst nausea and tiredness. I’m so tired of these pessaries as well. Is anyone else feeling like this?

Hi KBroughton, second scan went well. There is definitely only one baby in there. I couldn't get over how much it had grown. It actually started to look like a baby, even saw its leg move. I totally understand how nervous you are feeling, I was exactly the same. Once I had my scan at 8wks+3days they told me I could stop my pesseries. I felt very worried about this. Im slowly weaning myself off what I have left. The sickness and tiredness all sound like very good signs. Xx

Hi Ladies,
I only found out about this forum recently , although we started IVF back in Feb this year. It would have been useful to know about it sooner so I can get in touch with other people in the same situation as me. I had a frozen embryo transfer on the 23rd August. My pregnancy test was positive but when I went for the first scan last week, they couldn't see anything in the sac. I had to have some blood tests done and I am going for another scan on thu this week. I am so nervous about it, especially because last week's scan was so upsetting for us. I am really hoping thu morning will bring us good news.
I am still doing lubion injections twice a day, i think it has been almost 2 months now. My belly is soo sore. I have sore boobs and abdominal pain most days. when do you switch to pessaries from injections?

How is everyone else feeling?

Hi Anne, im so sorry you are going through so much stress. It must of been so hard for you when they told you. Hopefully when you go back on Thursday there will be able to see more. Ivf is such a hard journey to go through. I was having a lubion injection once a day and pesseries twice a day. After my 8 week scan I stopped the injection and im now finishing off my pesseries. Once there have finished I'm not having anything else.

thanks for responding, The medication must be different for everyone. I am taking progynova tablets 3 times a day and doing the injections twice a day. I was told if everything looked okay on the scan Thursday, I will be switching to pessaries. I have started to read a lot of stuff on the internet which sometimes makes things worse. Apparently, in some cases you can hear the baby's heart beat as early as week 6.. two more sleeps until I find out I am trying to keep busy during the day and not think about it too much.

Hi Anna, yes the medication can differ between people. All depends on age, condition etc. Also depending on if you have a fresh or frozen cycle that can change what meds/pesseries you can take after transfer . Yes the Internet can drive you insane sometimes and make you feel worse. Im terrible for going on google. Good idea to try and keep busy during the day. I did the same on the lead up to my scans. How many weeks are you now? Xx
