UK in lockdown does this include private IVF patients

#1 Post by jenz1988 » Mon Mar 23, 2020 9:10 pm

Does anyone have any knowledge on what other countries have done when in lockdown?
I'm expecting Boris is going to announce that at 8:30 tonight which probably will mean end of the line for our cycle.
Will Care and other private clinics have to close therefore cancel cycles? :(
I'm expecting that's the case but wondered if they may be governed differently being medical and private?

They're not starting any new cycles/stims
We could've still gone for it as date wise all being well we would've been able to be fit in but they weren't really advising it due to the uncertainty with how it could effect a pregnancy if it was to work. We have decided to cancel and I'm gutted yet again after 3 other cancelled cycles. Although they made it clear it was totally out choice I don't think there was really any other choice to make during this pandemic.

I had an email from them yesterday confirming they are at this time no longer able to commence new treatment cycles and that they are not currently matching egg donors with recipients that are awaiting to commence treatment.

They don’t know when treatment can recommence but my position on the waiting list will remain unchanged.

Stay safe and well all x
