Process

Hello

My fiance and I are going for an appointment on wed to the gp to start the referral for pgd ivf.

We will need nhs funding

how will it be long from this appointment on wed to an appointment with care?

How long from that appointment with care until we receive treatment?

I have a genetic disorder

what is the process? what tests are there and what happens?

thank you guys

Thank you and good luck to you too xxx

We have skipped the appointment with the dr and have self referred
As I have a geneti condition listed under the conditions covered. The gp was making it more complicated

We also self referred for the exact same reason our local consultant actually said to us that he wouldn't refer us for something he didn't believe in! We were disgusted...

What will you be having pgd for hun? Don't worry if you don't want to answer. I'm having pgd due to recurrent cmp.

I've noticed there isn't many replies on this board as I've posted myself but all the ladies on the forum are so nice and helpful, maybe not a lot of people are having pgd at present.

I'm also on the general forum there are lots of ladies on there going through ivf too which is the same as us but without the screening, you may find that helpful? There is a couple of us that haven't been for consultation yet and don't know what's what so feel free to join in the conversation over there :D

Best of luck

-____- i self referred but got an email from care today saying I need to be referred by a genealogist to get nhs funding...

they also need evidence in the form of my genealogist report and chromosome mutation thingy...

my gene report seems to have gone walkies so even though i am diagnosed with it and all my medical reports say this, no one seems to have the report....

so I may have to be tested again to get the report to progress........

how long do you want to be it will take to get an appointment....

I am going to see my association can help speed things up in the getting the appointment department

I have neurofibromatosis type 1

your consultant is appalling!

Oh no little-laura that's so crap that they've lost your report!

Let's hope they can get you an appointment very quickly!
You must be feeling very disappointed but don't worry hun it will only be a matter time before you can start this next part of your life, do keep in touch and let us know when you get your appointments etc there is always someone to talk to on here and were all going through a similar process.

Good luck with everything
