Hi girls
Confused at the moment what is the difference between Array cgh and PDG and how much does it cost.
Also is it worth having DNA frag before doing this?
We have no immune issues so they are saying this would be the next option.
Thanks

Hi Zo Bo,
The difference between Array CGH and PGD is that Array CGH tests for general chromsome abnormalities in the 23 pairs of chromosomes, where as PGD tests for specific gene disorders (i.e. pre-known gene defects/disorders already diagnosed in the parent(s) which could be passed on).
If you look on the fee schedule given (for each of the clinics) on this Care website, you should find the costs for both the tests -

I presume that both you and your partner have had your karyotyping done.
Do you want to do a DNA fragmentation test to help decide whether to cycle again or not? If you are intending to do one of the chromosomal abnormality tests on your next cycle anyway, then I would say that DNA fragmentation test won't be worth doing ... as the test results are generally not conclusive as to whether you are likely to conceive or not using the sperm. But it really is up to you if you want a better picture of the quality of the sperm ... it costs about £350.
Good Luck!
