I get what you mean about an early scan I had one at EPAU and I still feel anxious. I even asked if I could wait but they wanted to rule out ectopic and with my history they basically told me I needed to have it or stay in hospital. Which I didn’t want to do.

I am still anxious about next week I feel like I will
Be like this throughout the pregnancy.
I was sick this evening. I am struggling to take my pregnacare vitamins now. I took them and then felt sick.
My symptoms seem to be on/off as well.
I completely understand why they wanted to do an early scan for you, particularly as you’ve had an ectopic before, you need to know it’s implanted in the right place.
My issue was that with one of my natural pregnancies I had a really early scan and they said the embryo hadn’t developed as expected but it could just be a bit behind and it might progress. I had to go back for scans for weeks before they would diagnose a miscarriage when I knew it couldn’t be a viable pregnancy. It was during the first lockdown and I had to go to scans on my own so it was all quite traumatic. So I’m thinking the further along I am when I have this scan at least it will be more conclusive if there is an issue.
I think I’m going to be anxious throughout the whole pregnancy too but hoping the further I get, the more I can relax but I feel a way off that at the moment.
I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling so sick. With your vitamins I think the only one that’s really important is the folic acid (and maybe vitamin D) so could you see if you can buy that separately so it’s a smaller tablet and maybe that might be easier to take?
I think sickness is definitely a good sign though even if you feel horrible! X

Good morning ladies, how are you today?

I woke up today with a big headache, took 2x paracetamol, seems to be better, it is sth I experienced when I had MMC, it doesn't mean I've got MMC but it doesn't make me happy or comfortable.
Cat food, especially Dreamies smell soo bad, I noticed that today 😂 x

I felt headachy the other day and worried for the same reason as had the same with a MMC but I think it could just be changes in hormones so try not to worry too much if you don’t have any other concerning symptoms (easier said than done I know!). Not long to wait to the scan now! X

I’ve had a headache for two days and it’s been really worrying me. Hoping it’s just hormones like you say as I’ve also felt a bit more down the past 2 days. I’ve been diagnosed with a UTI so am on antibiotics now too. Not long until Tuesday, it can’t come around quick enough! I wish we could scan at home for reassurance 🤣🤣 xx

Hi Ladies

Hope your all ok
I have been feeling pretty much the same as you all. Some Twinges here and there, feeling nausea, sore breasts, tired and my sense of smell is very high.
I just hope these are all good signs and not side affects from the Medication I am taking.

Looking forward to next week. I am starting to feel anxious about my scan. Hoping the weekend goes very fast.
Nark I agree I just want to get to 12 weeks.

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is ok? I have the smell thing too with certain foods - tuna is the worst and my husband keeps insisting on eating tuna sandwiches 🤢
I’m so thirsty at the moment, I put it down to the steroids before and just needing more fluids in pregnancy but it’s got worse over the last few days so that I can’t really quench my thirst and my mouth is so dry in the night. I’ve googled it (🙄) and now wondering if it could be gestational diabetes but I thought that didn’t happen til much later in the pregnancy. If everything is ok with my scan on Tuesday I think I will contact the midwife to ask about it.
It feels like the next few days are going to drag so slowly waiting for the scan, I’m just so worried it’s not going to be good news. I’m sure everyone else feels the same X

Hi AA28, sorry for the delayed message. I was referred to EPU as I had left sided pain so they checked for an infection, did a US and found that the sac was in the right place. I was 5 weeks and 4 days at the time. They couldn’t explain the reason for the pain but didn’t want to treat it due to the early pregnancy that was forming.

I am having massive pregnancy anxiety as well as my symptoms seem to be disappearing so I am just worried the scan won’t be a good outcome. I can’t everyone is worried about the same but I am hoping we all get to see our little one’s heart beating away. Hope you are trying to keep busy this weekend xx

Exactly the same happened to me they didn’t know where the pain was coming from one of the junior doctors said my leg pain was not concerning.
Are they re scanning you?

That’s great you have an earlyish scan. I wish mine was earlier but keep telling myself it won’t change the outcome so just have to be patient which is not one of my strong points!! 😂
I’m already taking low dose aspirin (and inhixia) for antiphospholipid syndrome (blood clotting). Is that what you have? I was told separately by a haematology consultant to take the aspirin daily as a precaution aside from the IVF / pregnancy so have been taking it for quite a while anyway. Not saying that to worry you, I know there are different approaches depending on individual conditions and lots of other factors so I’m sure your clinic are right with the plan they have put in place for you.
I know it’s weird we’re all around the same day for scans - here’s hoping it’s a lucky week for us all! 🤞🏻 X
Well done for hanging in there! haha I think patience is a strong point for you as you have done so well. I don’t think I could have waited that long! The difficulty with early scans is if they can’t find a heartbeat and you have to go back the following week which can be stressful. IVF is such a waiting game!

That’s good you are taking low dose aspirin. I have read it can help a lot. I wanted to take it but my consultant at care said no. I received conflicting advice. I am homozygous for MTHFR and PAI mutations, meaning I am likely to get DVT’s in pregnancy and my body doesn’t process folic acid so I have to take methylfolate and a blood thinner. But I also have platelets that are on the high end of normal that are reactive so my haematology team advised me to take aspirin during TTC but Care said it could affect implantation so I was stuck between the advices. So as a compromise they are doing an early scan to put me on it as soon as the pregnancy is viable. It’s weird that so many conditions have the same treatment.

Hoping everyone gets the best news at their scans ☺️
Oh gosh that all sounds really complicated and difficult if you have had conflicting advice. I know there can be different approaches to these things which is not helpful when we desperately just want to do everything possible for a good outcome. It sounds like you have a reached a good compromise though.
Yes I’ve had that problem with an early scan before when I had a blighted ovum form natural pregnancy pre IVF - the scan was so early that they kept saying it might still develop (when I knew it wouldn’t) and kept having to go back for more scans before they would diagnose the miscarriage which was quite distressing. So at least with a scan a bit later it should be more clear cut if there is an issue (hopefully not 🙏🏻).
Hope you are doing ok today, noticed you said you had some symtoms you were worrying about and we’re contacting EPU so really hope all is ok xxx
Hi Rosie28, sorry for the delayed message. I was referred to EPU and everything was okay based on the tests they did. I am just praying for a good outcome on Tuesday. I don’t get why there is conflicting advice on taking baby aspirin, I have read so many forums where its use was successful. It’s only a few more days before I can start taking it if all is well at the scan. I think I am having so much anxiety just thinking about it.

I am sorry about your experience with blighted ovum. I had the same thing in the IVF pregnancy last year. You will be quite far along so hopefully all will be okay. It looks like your symptoms are more prominent now so that’s a good sign for reassurance. I don’t think Tuesday can come quick enough. Hope you are doing well and keeping yourself busy this weekend xx

Did you also have pelvic pain or was it just leg pain? I assume the docs put the leg pain down to sciatica or early pregnancy muscle / joint pains? It was quite traumatic as they did a physical pelvic examination and I was in so much pain at the time. It is reassuring that the pregnancy is in the right place. I have open access for emergencies only but they will not be re-scanning me again because Care’s scan is 1 week from their scan. I need to update them on Tuesday. It’s good they are monitoring and re-scanning you for reassurance x

Nark - sorry to hear about your husband, hope he is not feeling unwell, please try to isolate if you can. I had covid too, but my husband never got it despite sleeping in the same room (not in the same bed).

Rosie82 - just keep drinking water, I've had very dry mouth since positive pregnancy test, but still worth to ask midwife

RPishopeful - I'm anxious too, I'm thinking the same about my symptoms. Plus I need to go to work on Monday and sit there for 12h

JSMS and Nark - I've got similar, feeling like my smell got more normal now, boobs are not as sore too...

I'm brown spotting again... Means old blood. No cramping, nothing major I hope. I'm getting extra anxious now. I keep worry about my brown bleeding, maybe because I was lying on my stomach for few minutes?? I'm tired, generally still feel bit of a heartburn and thirst... I just feel weird and anxious😞 x
