A sad update from me I’m afraid

I had the worlds worst headache last Tuesday night to the point it woke me up at 4am. I never get headaches so this was weird for me. I went for a private scan on the Thursday when I was 9+5 & was told the heartbeat had stopped. Measurements were 9+1. We have been absolutely devastated & in total disbelief. I caught covid the week before but I don’t know if that had anything to do with it. On all 3 scans my measurements have been 4-5 days behind so I think it’s likely the embryo just wasn’t quite right from the beginning. It was my first cycle on an immune protocol & this is the furthest we have ever got, so I am trying to think positive & think the meds did actually work in allowing my body to sustain a pregnancy, the little bean just maybe chromosomally wasn’t right.
I’m really sorry to put this on here but I think I will feel better for noting it down & I am hoping someone may have some advice for me
The EPU told me yesterday to stop progesterone & see if it passes naturally, but regardless if I have to go back Monday anyway. I think if nothing happens I’ll opt for medical management rather than D&C, as I’m worried about scarring.
All the best to all of you & good luck xxx
Hi, I’m not in this group but saw your post and didn’t want to read and not reply. I’m so sorry for your loss. I have experienced miscarriages previously and there are just no words to describe the devastation you must be feeling

.
I experienced the severe headache with one of my miscarriages as well. In hindsight I think for me that was the signal of a sudden drop in hormones when the pregnancy wasn’t progressing.
I’m also on an immune protocol so I think you should take comfort from the fact that you’ve had a successful implantation and heartbeat which like
you say could indicate a chromosomal issue rather than immune issue (that’s what I’ve been advised previously).
In terms of advice, it’s so difficult but I think just allow yourself time to grieve and remember you don’t have to be strong all the time and you can lean on people who love you and want to support you.
On a practical note, I always find it helps to make a plan for the things I can control, so deciding what next steps are, arranging your review meeting and list of Qs for the consultant etc so you have a positive plan (when you are ready of course). X
