Hello!

Can I join? I was discharged from Care last week and am now 9w1d with one little bean. Due 29th November. First pregnancy and feeling very lucky our 2nd fresh cycle was successful.

I was reading your updates on the awaiting scans page, so pleased that your scan went well and all is looking good now!

Feels a bit weird now I'm in between Care and midwife but had our Earlybird session yesterday and got lots of info and my pack of notes etc. Still feels so surreal!

Hi Sophie and congrats on your pregnancy! It is weird isn't it. I left care today feeling all emotional as I probably won't ever be going back now. Last time with my son I knew I had one frozen embryo left waiting for us there but now this time is it :)

Not sure what an early bird session is???

I'm still a bit anxious (always will be because of the bleeding) so I have booked a private reassurance scan for when I'm 10 weeks - can't wait until I'm 12 weeks for my NHS one haha

Aww I bet! My clinic said that they have a get together with patients and babies once a year, does yours do the same?

It was a group session, the midwife just explained about all the screening, scans etc and we got our bounty pack ready for the booking appointment. I'm not sure if it's just this area that does it as I've mentioned it to a few friends who said they didn't have one.

I don't blame you, I've had some spotting on and off since bfp and that's been worrying enough! I'm a massive worrier anyway and had been thinking about booking a reassurance scan for next week when I'm 10 weeks. You may have just convinced me to go for it haha, 12 weeks seems forever away! What date do you have it booked for?

Awe that sounds brilliant, we don't have that in this area.

I don't think they have a get together at Manchester CARE either but that would be really nice

I have my private scan booked for Sunday 14th and my first midwife appointment is next Thursday so have something baby related booked for the next two weeks haha

Have you thought yet of how you will announce it?? Or have you already? We have only told close family and a couple of friends so far. My boss knows but can't wait to tell my colleagues in the office

Hello it's so lovely to be able to join this thread I feel so lucky!
I was discharged on Tuesday at 7 weeks 5 and have my midwife appointment booked for 15th may! My first attempt at a donor cycle after. Failed PSG cycle.
So my due date is the 8th December! Baby elf!
I am wondering about 10 week scan... maybebaby it's your fault I did an early pregnancy test and now you've got me on this!!! I was going to wait and get Doppler!

It's great having the appointments to count down to isn't it, think that's why I started thinking about the 10 week scan as I've got nothing in the calendar for next week!

We've only told close family and friends too, not really thought about how to announce it, so excited to though! Have you got anything planned?

Hi Betty! It's lovely that our babies are due so close to Christmas isn't it, it's going to be so exciting! I was reading about dopplers too, do you think you'll get one? I was a bit worried they'd make me more anxious if I couldn't find a heartbeat!

Dopplers get mixed press!
I've done some research on line and although the medical pages say don't in case can't hear and think big problem. But looking at you tube stuff I think it's going to be reassuring!!!..and they seem to get to know where baby is!!!
.. I think ivf pregnancy feels 10 times longer due to knowing and doing... and 12 weeks seems a long time!
I asked in morhercare and she was very negative funny as I was about to buy!
For the money it's seems a positive and involves hubby too!!
Going to look at private scan I can't help it!!!

Hahaha Betty - so funny about the scan! Get one booked - gosh it's took this long to get here why not see baby again and extra time!

I had a Doppler with my little boy and although it is unnerving a couple of times if it takes ages to find heartbeat it's also really really reassuring n lovely when you do. I know my husband and my family liked hearing the heartbeat too. I think as long as you expect it to take a while to find you will be ok - it's sometimes confusing as you what your own heartbeat too but babies is much faster like a galloping horse

Can I join too? We have a due date around the 3rd December! Hopefully this will be our first successful pregnancy after 3 recurrent miscarriages. We heard the heartbeat at CARE on Tuesday which was incredible. I have had spotting too which has freaked me out but CARE Birmingham have been amazing and so supportive. Kind of nervous to go back to nhs care and missing the support already of the clinic! :D

Hi everyone and congratulations to you all.

My due date is 11th December. Looked at date if I went 2 weeks over and if would be 25th!

Not sure if you're feeling like me but I'm so grateful yet it doesnt feel real. I feel like it's a dream.

I can't wait to see baby again and like most of you I might have to have a 10 week scan......exciting!

Have a lovely day mummies xx

Booked my 10 week scan today! It's next Thursday 4th so now I have two baby appointments to see me through the next two weeks haha.

I've always said I wouldn't find out the gender but now I'm actually pregnant I really want to know! Think it might make it feel more real? Did you find out with your little boy?

Yey that's exciting news about the scan! I have booked mine for week after and comes as a package of 3 scans (1 at 10 weeks for reassurance, one at 15 weeks for gender and one at 20+ weeks for 4D) haha I'm scan mad!

I didn't find out gender with my little boy (I was so tempted but hubby stayed strong not wanting to know). I had a really difficult birth tho and so when I found out it was a boy I wasn't even with it enough to care (I know that sounds bad but I was really ill). I have decided to find out this time because if that- it was nice my last pregnancy having a surprise and wondering but I wanna know this time and plan haha. Plus I have kept all my sons stuff so if another boy (which I think it will be) I can get it all out and wash it ready, if a girl I'll sell some of it and buy new.

Thanks for adding me maybebaby! It's exciting to think both you and Sophie have some more scans soon! I have had three scans so far through our clinic due to spotting and paranoia so I will try and hold out a bit before booking another reassurance scan with a private clinic, it is soooo tempting though!

Lea, I totally get how you feel, I don't know if I trust that it will actually work this time, feels too good to be true and something that happens to other people rather than me.. I'm hoping as time goes on it will start to become more real! I just keep trying to tell myself that hearing a heartbeat at 8 weeks is a great sign (apparently 98% success rate even for women like me with recurrent miscarriage) there still that 2% though....eek. Hopefully it will be fine! :)

Betty - my sister had a Doppler and really liked it for reassurance before she could feel kicking etc later in pregnancy.

Fingerscrossed17 those stats are really positive.....fingers crossed for us all. Sorry to hear about your miscarriages.

I'm really tired today and feeling sick all day. Don't really want to eat anything but making myself eat to help the Lil one grow. I've had a few mild cramps on and off for the past day. Has anyone else had these? I was feeling scared but researched and seems common! I always think the worse though!!

Hope you all enjoy the long weekend xx

I keep wondering when it will sink in too, doesnt feel at all real at the moment! Hoping the extra scan will help haha.

Lea I was going to ask about cramps too, I had cramping on and off since transfer but the other day had some really strong ones for about 20 mins that worried me a bit! I also did some research and seems quite common with all the stretching that's going on in there!

Maybebaby I'm the same but in the morning. Feel sick and eat loads of toast then it eases off a little.
Sophie I think it's what you say about our uterus growing which is good. Is this your first?

Hi Ladies. I'm one of last years Easter eggs and Christmas babies ladies and I hope you don't mind but I love reading all the success stories even now. There's not many of our group that come on here anymore as most have moved over to Facebook but reading about you all brings back fab memories. We had a very lucky and successful group with lots of babies including many twins and I'm lucky enough to have a baby girl who was 5 weeks early but lovely and healthy and nearly 6 months old now after my 1st round of IVF at 41/42yrs old and using my own eggs. Good luck to you all it's a long but wonderful journey.xx

It's meant to be a sign of a strong pregnancy to feel dodgy Lea! Just keep thinking of that! I am generally feeling tired, but haven't had lots of sickness, think having some more of that would help me feel more secure tbh! I have had lots of cramping and stretching feelings too, particularly at night. Weirdly even had high abdominal pain, I don't know if it's connected... I think I read that the uterus expands by twice by around this time so I imagine these sensations are just growing pains!

Maybebaby - it's nerve wracking isn't it! I may just give in and book another scan too. Has your spotting all stopped now? Mine seems to have but they saw some blood on scan I have been warned may show at some point. It's actually made knicker watch less stressful to be told that!

Sophie - I do wonder when it will feel real, maybe when I actually feel movement from baby, long way to go until then though I guess...

Betty - I used Mums in Solihull for private scan in the past who were good, but the most reasonable I have found is peek a baby who do scan for £45, never used them though! May be a bit far for you to travel though http://www.peek-a-baby.co.uk/aboutus . Glad to hear you had a day out in London, i bet it was nice to escape and focus on something else for a bit! I imagine teaching at the moment must be exhausting, I used to teach and it was exhausting enough without being preggo!

Annie - it's nice to hear from you, and hear your story! Exciting to think that could all be us in a year :-)

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend all! :D
