Bobby.87 - thank you! Love it!

I'm sure one hour out won't make much difference so I don't blame you Jo! I took mine an hour late once plus I've been off mine since 9 weeks. In theory your placenta should by starting to take over the hormone production anyway. Bet you can't wait to get off them! X

How is everyone doing?

All my symptoms went away for 5 days- very weird and felt human again!! I got super paranoid something was wrong and booked a private scan lol.

Anyway had a 8w5d scan today and baby fine- looks so much bigger and could see it's little stumps for arms and head. Lovely heart beat of 164bpm.

Low and behold, got home and feel sick as a pig again haha!!

Got my booking in appointment with midwife a week on Thursday ( I will be 10 weeks then) does anyone know what happens at that? Will my 12 week scan be booked then?

Thanks in advance :-) xxx

Hi Bobby,
Haha, we worry when we have symptoms and we worry if we don’t. Glad that you saw the little one!!!

I have had a 7 week scan and I would like to see my little one again, dh says I have to be patient and wait for the 12 weeks scan  .
I am trying to find place with a lower coast so he cannot refused, so far I found a place in Sheffield for £89, does anyone know of a place where is a little bit cheaper?

I have my midwife appointment next Wednesday, I am not sure what would happen at that besides that the 12 week scan will be booked

xx

Butterfly where are you based? There's one in Shepshed near Loughborough/Nottingham that's £59...

It would probably cost you nearly the £30 in petrol but if you're interested they're called 'miracle in progress' and they were fantastic when I had my 'panic' scan from bleeding and then a further reassurance scan.

My due date is the 12th of october. Had a right polava over the weekend. I'd had my urine checked by the antinatal nurse which came back i had a urine infection so the receptionist at the doctors said there was a prescription waiting for me at reception. Picked it up and asked 2 members of staff at the chemist if it was ok to take while pregnant they told me yes. I took one the following day so i could start the coarse properly and after i read the instructions to see if i should have it before or after food and saw it said do not take during pregnancy!!!! So i stormed upto the doctors they wouldnt even let me in the surgery i was stood in the street talking thru the intercom and they told me all doctors had gone home!!! (They were obviously lieing) no advice or anything. So i rang nhs direct who confirmed i should not take the medication during pregnancy as it can cause birth defects and especially under 12 weeks!! So they sorted me with another prescription i checked and double checked it was safe and it seemed it was. Started the coarse and then was seeming to get bits of bleeding a few hours after every tablet i took! So rang nhs direct again who couldnt advice me on the tablets and said i needed seing and tried to book me in an out of hours surgery at 3 this morning. I said there was no point unless there were scanning facilities as id already been messed about once before and learnt this lesson and was no point going to a+e as they dont scan thru the night either so i waited till this morning to ring epu which said i needed refering by either my midwife or doctor, well that was a battle in itself so in the end i rang epu back and said iv rung my midwife has she contacted you im not waiting hours i need something sorting so they booked me in but not till tomoz!! I read the antibiotics can cause vaginal bleeding but if i cant take those how am i supposed to clear my urine infection up!!! No win situation and im still none the wiser! Also my midwife never tested my urine at the first app and i rang her one day concerned that she hadnt and she told me to wait till my next scan which would have ment id have waited 7 weeks with a urine infection which by then would definately turned to a kidney infection which can cause probelms too!! Been let down by the midwife, doctor and chemist!! Good job i'm cautious but who are ya supposed to trust if your doctor can just give out a medication harmful to my baby!! I'm fuming and once everything has settled i will definately be addressing these situations with them!!

Oh Nicola that is just dreadful! What a total mistake by the doctors. I'm SO glad you were careful and checked the medication. I agree you need a scan asap. Once you're in at the EPU they should give you a direct line as I now have that after my scare at the weekend. I think you have to keep taking the antibiotics if they're safe in pregnancy but I can TOTALLY understand your panic. Tbh I would be tempted to come off them until your scan tomorrow? Gosh what a predicament? The NHS is just in disarray - is there a private clinic you can go to to keep your nerves at bay?

You absolutely must report all this once the worry is over. I'm sure your bean is fine - you're nearly past the 12 weeks and you only took one tablet.

I know it's not proven but a lot of my friends have sworn by cranberry juice for urine infections in pregnancy. Also vaginal bleeding is not uterine bleeding so hopefully it's just littl blood vessels - are you still on progesterone support?

Stay strong you're doing everything right but you're right to be furious! xxx

Hi all,

Been trying to distract myself the last few days as time going so slow! Anyway, had 7 week scan today and all looking good - amazing to see a little heart beat flickering away!

I'm sure I'll start worrying about the next thing soon, but it is nice to just feel a little bit more relaxed. We are moving house on Saturday and under strict instructions from hubby to do nothing!!

Good to hear that lots of babies growing well on here.

Its the second lot of antibiotics that seem to have made me bleed i stopped taking them and the bleeding seems to have stopped. I went down to 1 pessary and come off those friday. I have been drinking lots of cranberry juice as iv had kidney problems before so used to live off the stuff! Im glad to hear about vaginal bleeding not being the same as uterine bleeding tho so i will soon see tomorrow hoping and praying baby c (as i call her/him) is all good and just being a diva already keeping me on my toes lol! Had my feet up today so glad im not at work im supposed to be going back next week but will probably get another sick note.

Definitely stay off. I didn't go in today I'm still recovering from Friday. I think we have to put ourselves first, but vaginal bleeding is definitely not the same as uterine as they were totally unworried about me on Saturday. They couldn't find a bleed or a cause in the uterus so said it was fine, although scary! Scan is tomorrow right?

Oh Nicola that sounds awful what you have been through. No care or attention given to you or your situation you truly have been let down by the system not by one but 3. Put in a formal complaint about your doctors, they take things like this seriously.

Butterfly, the midwife appointment will take approx 1 1/2 hours going through your medical history etc. They'll weigh you, take your height measurements and make sure you take a urine sample. Once finished you'll official receive your pregnancy notes and booklet which is what you'll need every appointment.
Make sure you ask for a bottle for your next appointment as they'll request a urine sample every time you see the midwife.
It's an in depth appointment and they'll also sort out your 12weeks scan. This will come through the post couple of days later.

I've my 12 week scan Wednesday morning but I'll actually be 13weeks 4 days. Excited but nervous too last scan I had I was 10weeks so baby will look extremely different

Bobby - I'm pleased to hear baby is doing ok. It's weird how symptoms can suddenly stop and then restart randomly again. The same has happened to me a couple of times so far.

Butterfly - the scan I had was £89 which seemed the going rate where I live. I'm in Milton Keynes so can't really recommend anyone local for you unfortunately. Hope you manage to find a cheaper one.

Nicola- gosh what useless people they are! How can 3 of them get it so wrong?! That's ridiculous. Well done on being so cautious. I really hope your scan
tomorrow reassured you Hun and that you can get antibiotics that will sort your UTI while being safe for baby. I had to remind my midwife st my booking appt that I needed a urine sample tested. It's awful but I think they have so much to cover they rush through and lose track what they have and haven't done. Useless!

Sue - that's great to hear your little bean is well too. I'm pleased to hear it has reassured you. I must say I feel a lot more relaxed since my last reassurance scan. I hope it lasts until my almost 13 week scan.

Jo - glad to hear you've had today off and rested. I hope you're feeling ok after Friday. When are you due back at work?

Sazzy - good luck with your scan Wednesday. Looks like you're the first of the group to have the 12/13 week scan. So exciting!

Loulou i totally understand how ppl can forget but id rang to let her know after and it was the fact she fobbed me off and was prepared to let me wait 7 weeks!! Especially with it being an ivf pregnancy as well. It would have been no bother me dropping one down for her. Just makes you feel like these ppl arent there to support and want the best makes me feel like its just their job and not their pregnancy or their baby.

Jo has your bleeding stopped now? I'v just looked back with you saying they had said that to you and saw you lost alot of blood and clotts!! That must have been hurrendous!! How are you now? Im glad youv been off rest because its you and your baby that matter now!

Hey all. So had more bleeding today, still brown, plus cramps. Went for scan and baby is still fine they STILL can't work out a cause and said try not to worry. Work have sent me home and said stay off the rest of the week if I want to. We'll see I'd rather try and go in but going to decide later.

What an emotional rollercoaster this whole thing is! Nicola how was your scan??? x

Oh Nicola, how anoying situation. It is completely understandable that you are so furious, specially after asking in the pharmacy. How did the scan go today?

Sue, glad that everything is loooking good. Time goes by sooo slowly. Everyday I count doown the days for the 12 week. I have also set weekly things to look forward to try to make pass the time faster, this week is the midwife appt, next week my birtbday, the following week I am going on holiday and when I am back is exactly 12 weeks! Good luck moving house on Saturday. I am getting fitted a new kitchen and my house is a mess, dusk everywhere.

Sazzy, thanks for the info and good luck tomorrow, I am sure you cannot wait to see the little one!

Jo, your little one is such a fighter! Easier said that done but "try not to worry". Have they book you for another scan?

Awwww jo thats awful its like the worst thing to see is blood! Frustrating how they cant find the cause of it just keep resting!! Are you still on cyclogest? The nurse said because i'm on cyclogest and fragmin that will be whats causing it.

Sorry for the late reply i'v had a sickness bug! Just cant seem to get a break! But the scan was fantastic baby was happy as larry wriggling around kicking i'm not sure if i felt my first flutter in the night was wierd but i was half asleep.
