Hi ladies,
Can you believe it's nearly time - it's flown by! Although I'm now huffing, puffing & waddling around!
We had our gender reveal & we are having a little boy! Think he'll be a sportsman the amount he kicks me!
We are being closely monitored by the consultant because of baby's condition and they've decided he needs to be delivered a little bit early and by c- section so that he is out quick and straight to ICU. So I'm naturally quite apprehensive.
They are taking me in at 37 weeks for steroid injections to help his lungs and then he will be delivered a week later (10 days early).
I'm into my last two weeks at work now & regretting not taking mat leave earlier!!!
Hope everyone else is well
Xxx

Hi Everyone,

Just posting an update as we all are so close now.
I go into ho today for a placenta scan as I have placenta previa which is a condition that basically covers the cervix so no natural birth for me and I will be in from today onwards till baby is born either on the planned c section date of 26th of October or earlier should I go into labour early which is a very high possibility due to my first child been 4 weeks early hence why they are keeping me in from today.

I truly wish everyone the very best and a safe delivery of your precious little ones. Reality is just days/weeks away now.

Xx

Good luck Mitchip - my mum had that but unfortunately they didn't notice... fortunately though my monster of a sister had tangled the cord up so much they did an emergency c-section for that and thereby both of them survived :D . My mum said it was actually very interesting as a condition, if a little scary when undiagnosed. I'm sure they'll take super good care of you and your little one.

Wow we'll all be mum's in the next few days/couple of weeks!!! I can't believe how fast it's gone, but also how lucky we are to have got to this point with our sticky little embryos! :D :D :D

Hi ladies!
I hope you're all well.
How are you doing becs?
Wow 10 days to go Jo so exciting!
Deborella - ah a baby boy! Best of luck with your c section. I hope they look after you and baby and everything goes ok.
Good luck Mitchip. I hope baby comes a bit early for you so you're not waiting in hospital too long.

I've got 5 days until due date so hoping it'll be any day now although my cervix is still fully closed so not sure baby girl is in a hurry to say hello just yet. I'm so excited to meet her now, the suspense is killing me! X

Thanks Jo/IRB15

So I went in as planned yesterday and to their amazement and mine the placenta has actually moved. The lady doing the scan said I've not seen it so late on before so I am going to get a second opinion. I never thought for one minute this would happen after they told me the chances for week 32 to week 36 that it would move are practically so low it wasn't worth even mentioning. Well it just goes to show anything can happen and it moved not only a little but double the amount they needed it to so as you can imagine I'm over the moon. Our daughter is too as she really wanted to be a part of this journey by being at the birth. She's old enough and has been through a lot with us up to date.
Good luck to everyone xxx

Well mine got all exciting last night - hadn't felt baby move for ages and nothing I did would wake the monster up. So of course off we trot to hospital like good people. Dr comes in 'right, going to monitor you, do a membrane sweep and book you for an induction next week' WHAT?! That escalated fast. Hoping I don't need it because I'm 2cm dilated already and had the sweep thing (which wasn't as painful as I was expecting).

Waiting game now I guess, and I don't HAVE to have the induction next week (do not want it at all!)

Oh wow Jo,

My cousin had a sweep a couple of weeks ago and it only took her two days to go into full labour and she was 2 cm dilated so hopefully you won't be too long before your holding you little bundle of joy.

Good luck xx

That's great news Mitchip.
How exciting Jo. Sounds like it won't be long until baby is here.

I think my plug went this morning so I'm hoping something might start happening in the next day or so. Fingers crossed x

Had some bad tearing so still in hospital but he’s totally worth it!!! Can’t believe how much I love him!!!

Congratulations Jo! Wonderful news to hear of Theo's safe arrival! How are you feeling now? Recovering well I hope.

Any news of any other arrivals yet?

My little princess was born on 25th Oct after being induced 10 days overdue. I had a stupidly quick labour! Only 1hr 50 mins from first contraction to delivery so there was no time for any pain relief. Just gas and air for 5 mins to push her out. She weighed a whopping 8lb 15oz! I'm so in love with her. X

Oh wow LouLou that is fast - and to manage an induction with no epidural you did amazingly! Hope you’re recovering and happy at home? I’m finding time is going so fast - I want it to slow down!

These miracle babies of ours are amazing aren’t they :)

They truly are! Our little miracles! Amazing to think what we all went through to get them but every part was so worth it!

I'm recovering well thanks Jo just absolutely shattered. The sleepless nights are tough especially with a toddler to run around after. How are you finding motherhood? X

Congratulations mummies and daddies!! Can't believe our little ones are here!

My baby boy Alex James was born 25.11.17 at 19.37 by emergency c-section. I had to be induced as per my consultants advice (There was no medical reasoning behind it though) I went the full 3 days and ended up having my waters broke. Little man had pooed so had to be monitored the whole time. After 13 hours of labour and 2 hours pushing the doctor was called. Alex was turned in a funny position and then pooed again. I was rushed to theatre where they tried to turn him but his shoulders were stuck so had the c-section. The anesthetic wore off as they were cleaning me up and I has to be put to sleep!

Getting my little miracle was challenging from beginning to end but he is now 3 months old and I couldn't be more in love and would do it all over again xx

Hi Jo! How are you and bubba doing?

We’re good apart from Sophie is in the middle of a sleep regression so it’s pretty intense and tiring. I’m back at work a few days a week so just trying to get settled back into our new routine.

We have a frostie that we’re still deciding what to do with. We’ve paid to extend our freezing until Jan next year when we will probably have it put back and let fate decide if we are to have a 3rd child or not. Will this try be for baby number 2 for you? Have you done a frozen cycle before? X

Hey! We’re doing great. He’s at nursery full time during term time (I’m a teacher so get the long holidays so we thought try full time see how it goes). He absolutely loves it! It’s actually really helping his development, although I do really miss him when I’m at work  Theo has been in a sleep regression since he was born  kid is a definite owl - happy to stay up late and wake late (will happily go to bed at 10 and sleep until 10 the next morning!). He does still wake 2/3 times a night though which is tiring now I’m at work but not too disastrous - you just get used to it I think!

Yes the idea is to try for number 2. We have 3 decent quality Frosties so I have my fingers crossed - the Clinic were very positive about our chances over the course of using all 3 of them which is great!

What do you do for work? You back just a few days then?

Wow you’re doing amazing juggling working full time and being a mummy Jo! Especially as Theo doesn’t sleep very well. Nursery is great for them you’re right! Sophie has learnt so much since starting nursery. She goes a couple of days per week. I work 24 hours per week across 3 days. Family have her on one of the days for us. I am in the compliance team at a life insurance broker.

That’s great you have 3 Frosties! There should be baby number 2 there as 1 in 3 ivf’s work on average. When you thinking of doing it? We’re waiting a bit longer to put our one back as want another 3 year age gap as saves a fortune in childcare costs as the 30 hours government funding starts the term after they turn 3. X
