Possum - glad to hear that Jack is settling in well. Now is your turn to settle into your new job ... hope everything goes well for you on that front too. Rachel - great news about your DH getting his new job ... great timing, now that Thomas is in full time education. It should take some pressures ...

Thanks Noggin and Wendy.

I have only ever been on short (except for my first cycle) ... but I was an old bird even then - compared to you two!

Konley,

I understand your nervousness about any suggestions to your treatment ... you shouldn't have to 'drive' the treatment, deciding on which protocol you should be on! The consultants are the experts and should know what's best for you. Some consultants eh?

Quick question for Noggin and Wendy,

Were you on the short or long protocol?

Konley,

Sorry to barge in ... it is definitely worth considering the short protocol ... it tends to give better response in 'older' ladies.

Just did a quick search on this BB -

http://www.carefertility.com/ivf/viewto ... opy#815472

If Care Nottingham is doing it for £500, then maybe Care Manchester is doing something similar too?

Hi Sisterdoc,

I am glad to hear that you were put on gestone (ensuring sufficient progesterone got into your system) ... I feel at least that your m/cs weren't due to low progesterone levels. So one more potential factor eliminated!

Sisterdoc, I love seeing your mojo back!!! I know that hysteroscopy done privately is around the £2k mark, but I am pretty sure that some Care consultants do them for about £500 (not sure if it's done at Care clinics or local private hospitals). If you post a thread on the general forum, I am sure...

Hi Sisterdoc,

Just something came into my nappy brain ... which progesterone support were you using?

Must dash, but will be back.

Hi Sisterdoc,

I am so pleased that your positivity is returning ... well done, lovely lady!

Do have a look into the uterus blood flow ultrasounds too.

Do let me know if you feel that I can help in any way.

All the best,
Maple

No problems, Sisterdoc. Because you have managed to produce so many good quality, chromosomally normal embryos (and are likely to be able to produce more, if needed) ... you still have a very good chance of succeeding. You just need to find out what is causing the m/c's ... I suspect that it is some...

You just need a huge dollop of luck!

Sisterdoc, I want to emphasise that the stuff I wrote about the Hidden C is my uneducated opinion. I would still recommended hysteroscopy ... the best method to see if there is anything physically wrong with the uterus cavity (which ultrasounds are not great at). Edenrose mentioned hysterosalpingogr...

Sisterdoc, If you just want to eliminate another 'unknown', Hidden C can be tested by doing the PCR menstral blood test directly with Locus Medicus (on the second link above). You can find lots of posts on the 3rd link as to how to do the test and send it off to Locus Medicus (by post). This is the ...

Sisterdoc, What I am going to write is my own opinion on the Hidden C, (and as you know I have no medical training what-so-ever, just personal experience and lots of reading/research. I personally think the Hidden C is a bit of hocus pocus ... I was sucked into because I was desperate for an answer ...

Ahhh thanks ladies for posting your drugs protocol to Konley.

I knew that there is a variation in the mix of the two stimming drugs prescribed.

Konley - I don't know if it has helped or confused you even more!

Konley, From what Noggin has said about your thyroid ... silly question - I presume that your thyroid has been rechecked for the last cycle? I don't think it makes a great deal of difference between Day 2 or Day 3 transfer in terms of success rates. It might be worthwhile checking with other ladies ...

It's odd but soft shelled eggs sounds like the eggs are immature rather than over-mature, IYKWIM.

I wonder if you dig out that article you found, it will be interesting for me to read it.

Hi Konley, Gosh very similar cycles in terms of follicles/eggs ... do you know why your consultant changed your drugs protocol? The differences could just be down to the 2 years of aging, not necessarily the drugs ... it's hard to know. Or the last cycle could just be a freak cycle. I would be tempt...

Konley, Never feel bad about expressing your feelings ... as it helps with the healing process. From the numerous treatments that I have followed, I would say the generally the combined mixed of Gonal F and Menopur tend to give slightly better results (in terms of egg quality), but not in every case...
